BOWLING "TEAM" CRUISE

The gang will be leaving Miami on Oct 31. The group consists of VW Bowlers and relatives.

They will visit Nassau,  Key West,  and a private island (Coco Cay).

Sand, Sun, and Good Times are definitely on the schedule. I am sure at least one passenger will have a camera and take some nice pictures for us.

Look for our sailors to return on Nov 4TH

HAVE A LAUGH

The jokes from the neighbors keep coming. This one looks pretty good. Enjoy it !!!!

The Veterinarian

One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the pastor of a small church found a envelope containing $1,000.  It happened again the next week!

The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her.

"Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate," he stated.

"Why, yes," she replied, "every week my son sends me money, and I give some of it to the church."

The pastor replied, "That's wonderful. But $1,000 is a lot; are you sure you can afford this? How much does he send you?"
The elderly woman answered, "$10,000 a week."

The pastor was amazed. "Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living?"

"He is a veterinarian," she answered.

"That's an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much money," the pastor said. "Where does he practice?"

The woman answered proudly, "In  Nevada ... He has two cat houses, one in  Las Vegas , and one in  Reno "

BOSS" DAUGHTER VISITING

Now I know why I have been given their trust to run the keyboard. They don't have the time as they will be off to the airport to meet their oldest daughter.

She is coming down to go on that cruise with them. That's nice, but why didn't I get asked to go?

More gossip if I get it.

PULTE STOCK

I think they give up on their thoughts of being a millionaire with that investment in Pulte Stock. Playing the slots on their cruise just might make them more money. At least His wife will agree with that.

He told me to give a report on it. They purchased it at $6.46   It is now: $5.50

I think they are down, but not as bad as last month.

NEIGHBOR IS BACK IN CHARGE, AGAIN

I must admit it is fun to be His Honor the Keyboard Boss.

As the designated neighbor in charge  I can only do so much, but it is good fun to fill in for a few days.

The "Big Bowler" is taking his "Lady" away with the bowling gang for a few days, and I promised to: "Do No Harm."

They are putting me in charge early (of course with plenty of notes and instructions like be kind to bruno etc.). I always do OK, and they know it. Maybe I'll get a Sea shell or something borrowed from their ships cabin as a reward for my temporary help.

They will be sailing with the  VW BOWLING TEAM  to:  Nassau, and Key West.  Sounds nice. Have fun guys, and if you are on a lower deck don't open the  port hole.

Look for the Gang to return on  Nov. 4TH

The "WALK" - A GREAT PLACE TO " BABY SIT"

Here is where the old and young really come together.

The daughter likes to get a break now and then for an hour or two.

Grandma likes to play with the tiny one.

"Pop's" says "Leave me alone," but he always gets caught taking pictures, and playing with "That Kid".  "He" would be Poppy's buddy - Mr. Cameron.

In the end the "Old Guy" had some pictures to edit, and his Queen had some words to post. Another day, and some more good times here in the "walk."

CINDY WATCH: HOME AT LAST

A phone call has been received that our,  little one,  Cindy, has finally returned home to Manhattan. She said the trip home seemed quite long, and her stay not long enough. Monday means: "Back to Work."

She had an amazing adventure that included: Letting fish deliberately eat skin off the bottom of her feet; Touching Elephants in some jungle river, and dodging an Earthquake. All this was to find some
relaxation and get some exposure to the 'other side of the world.'

WELCOME HOME CINDY  (Come visit VeronaWalk Soon).

SAFETY TIP REGARDING KEY CARDS

A member of our Safety Team sent this piece of information to us. It hits home.
Can you count the number of times You may have compromised your ID by not disposing of a Room Key Card properly?

That Key Card may (revised 10/24/11) have this information  on it that includes:  Your Name, Your Home Address, Your  Hotel Room Number, and. Your Credit Card Number with expiration date.

This is what is suggested. KEEP THE CARDS. Take them home with you, or destroy them.  NEVER leave them behind in the room or room wastebasket, and NEVER turn them  into the front desk.Take the Key Card  and destroy it by cutting it up, especially through the electronic  information strip!

YOUR personal information is on that card so guard it and dispose of it in a way that protects you.

JUST A THOUGHT

“Not to be a traitor to my generation or anything” but, if you’re going to protest Wall Street, you have to understand the fight.

The above quote is food for thought. It is is attributed to Cher from the movie Clueless.

It seems to this writer that an understanding of the issues is important before the mouth becomes vocal. This is just a thought.

CINDY WATCH: DRAGON DANCE IN BALI

This picture is near the end of "our explorer's" travels. It is a:"Dragon Dance." Note the local man playing some type of flute.

Well in a day or two it's back to the good old  U.S.A. via Hong Kong.

CINDY WATCH:MESSAGE FROM PURI-PADI

We just got a quick note saying Cindy is in: "The famous Monkey Forest in central Ubud. She is staying in as Balinese-style hotel, which offers rooms with private balconies. Puri-Padi Hotel is surrounded by tropical grounds and boasts a large outdoor pool."

I am not sure I can afford the cost...$40 per night full price !

THOSE RUMMY GUYS WERE OUT ON THE TOWN AGAIN

These are from Wednesday (12th).

After most of us lost a quarter (We are big time gamblers) we enjoyed dinner together at the RIVERWALK. As one can see we had great views, and obviously a good time.

This seems to becoming a regular event, and why not? Fun is good.

CINDY WATCH: JUNGLE GARDENS & LAKE BATUR

From the latest email by Cindy:  She is safe and out exploring, apparently not bothered by that earthquake (Mom & and Dad would long be gone from there if that happened to us).

So putting the short bits of info together it looks like  "our explorer" took off into the jungle to find a volcano overlooking Lake Batur

She also found a garden associated with an ancient temple. Sounds quite  interesting to me.

Hope we get some pictures soon.

THE GAMBLER

I thought I disposed of this, but the "Queen" apparently found it, and a couple of neighbors to take the ride on Monday (Oct. 10).

She got home and gave a great report: "I didn't lose !" Well under intense questioning the truth came out. She won $100+

I am sure she will share a little with her King. I am all set to be taken out for dinner. Maybe I should call ahead and see if Mc Donald's takes reservations.

Glad she had a good day.

CINDY WATCH: EARTHQUAKE 6.8 IN NUSA DUA

My Lady got to the keyboard first and told me to check this out quick. Cindy was near an earthquake. That got my blood pumping, which was good as I had an appointment with doctor at 7:45 AM, but back to Cindy. She is somewhere in these exotic spots with weird names. God Bless her.

She  wrote:  "While I was checking out just now, we had an earthquake. It was small but we all felt it. Probably about the same strength as the one I felt in NYC. I'm safe, though, and it seems to be over."   The next stop is the Junjungan Ubud Hotel and Spa.  I always wanted to go there, right?
A few hours later she updated us on this earthquake business (I don't like that).  She was at her hotel and said, "Just felt another earthquake at the hotel in Ubud. I think maybe it was an aftershock from the one I felt this morning. It was a 6.8 in Nusa Dua, which is about 27K from where I was in Canggu and now 45K from where I am in Ubud. It stopped and I think it'll be okay. Sky is a little gray, overlooking the rice paddies."

To ease my mind she sent a picture of those gray skies over the rice paddies. Maybe I'll get it framed.

Again the bottom line is she is well, and I can't find Nusa Dua on any map. I think she should start planning to return  home.....SOON
