CINDY HAVING ANOTHER BIRTHDAY

This is Cindy. I am proud to wish her a good day on her 25th birthday.

I will go out and celebrate for her down here in sunny Naples. I'll join that group going to Shula's, but you will be on my mind.

That is correct, April Fools Day (April 1) will be the next big men's luncheon so sign up, and bring a friend.

PULTE STOCK

Here we are the end of the first quarter of 2015. My imaginary 100 shares of Pulte Stock are now at $22.06

This certainly is up and in the green. Remember the original investment with crazy money was $642 for 100 shares or $6.42 each.

Is it time to "Sell," or hold on to reach maybe $25.00 per share. Nice goal. We will see.

HOA MEETING - ELECTION OVER

Our Town meeting was last night. Over 500 people crowded into the room with two big things on their mind.

First was a change in our documents to require home owners to be responsible for cleaning their roofs and painting their homes. The prior wording had the HOA being the responsible party. The Amendment passed overwhelmingly. Homeowners get your paint buckets ready.

Regarding the election your new Board Members are:

It's over, and it is time to move on. No more emails from the safety committee; No more emails by pseudo named authors; and No more emails that are just plain sleazy. 

Lets come together and give the full Boards Our support, and bring about some positive changes.

BOCCE AT VERONAWALK

These Ladies are serious !  They were up and out before 9:00 AM.  To top that off, they got our Photographer on the scene too.

Well the group all gathered into a nice team huddle, and a few clicks produced some team shots, and  as well as some individuals.

Hope you all enjoy them.

LADIES NIGHT GOOD FOR THE GUYS TOO

A group of young ladies from Valentina Ct got together on Thursday for their night out.  That left the guys to take care of themselves.

The men did a great job. Steak dinner and a coupon. Worked well.

To top it off the guys managed to get back home just in time for the ladies pie.

ELECTION STUNTS

The Local Campaign should have ended on Candidates Night. In fact it would have been better if it did.

Since the big meeting at Town Center on March 5, there has been quite a commotion regarding candidates improper use of a logo, knocking on doors, etc. Almost sounds like an election is close.

Most recently, a D. I. Right, did a little email to the community citing his/her version of the facts that have not been in the candidates remarks. It turns out D. I. Right is a fictitious writer,  and supporting four people for three positions. This sounds like the resurrection of Boss Tweed with some Big Apple Math.

Even one of the Committee's got in the act. The Safety Committee Chairman sent several hundred emails offering less then truthful remarks about a couple of candidates. We suggest you close your eyes on his drivel, and go on to something else.  

The information shoveled out caught the attention of our HOA Board President.  He has set the record straight, and condemned the phantom Mr./Ms Right, as well as his Safety Chairman.  

Our Candidate will not get involved in this debate. He will stick to the points he made on March 5 - Start Budget Process on  Aug 30; Review all Contracts: ask for Bids on all Contracts.  

These points, honestly presented by our candidate, are sufficient to make a choice in the upcoming election. There is no need for the behavior we have seen in recent days.

THE BOSSES RETURN

They have both returned. He couldn't stop complaining how cold New Jersey was. I would have checked the Calendar first, but I'm just a hired hand here at Blog HQ.

Now after getting some sun on his face he is all happy. Back to "Rummy Kube" and maybe chase down someone who hasn't voted yet. Big Meeting is coming up on the 24th.

Now I, the "Trusty Neighbor" can go back to my secret tomato plants in my rear yard

JERSEY IS COLD, SUNSHINE CALLS

He is calling, almost daily, to see how things are going down here. The election is his penultimate thought right now. He survived Candidates Night, and thinks he made some new friends, but the cold temperature in NJ is a survival issue.

His key thought has been tested, and he is convinced that he, Mike and Barry. If elected  they will bring a sense of organization to the Board. Residents will see more involvement in specific functions, but the most important focus will be Budget, Budget, Budget.

While spending is their concern, Dennis wants to spend some dollars now,  just to get back here. He said, the ultimate goal now, is a return to home, where we have a Sunshine Law.

TIME OFF THE CAMPAIGN

Jersey is calling so we will hit the road and be gone for a few days.

Would you believe "The Queen" is driving? Don't bet on it. If our handsome young man had a 57 Chevy, he would not let her get behind the wheel.

LEASE MEETING TOMORROW

Your Board will meet tomorrow - March 11, 2015.

One of the big subjects on the agenda is the awarding of the lease for space currently held by the Hair Salon.

Several bids are in. If you want to see what happens check the post office for the official notice showing  the time for this meeting.

ROYAL PALM LUNCHEON

Almost 60 men entered Royal Palm Country Club last Wednesday.

It was the First Wednesday of the Month and time for the popular VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group to have lunch. This is season so the group has been looking for places that can hold a large crowd. 

The report was they all fit inside without any trouble. They also enjoyed their meal which featured grilled basa.  That is a fish if you didn't know.

Next month the guys will meet at Shula's.

If anyone is still thinking about food check out the Romeo lunch at the Cafe Verona on the second Thursday of the month.

CANDIDATES NIGHT INTERESTING

Well the big event at Town Center is over.

There were a few Candidates there that were introduced to the Residents who filled the room. The sound couldn't  have been better, and we are not sure if the guy in the last row heard everything. Maybe he was lucky.

Candidates had the opportunity to say to the crowd who they were, and what it was they would do. Dennis just wanted an excuse to post a picture of himself and Lois.

Our Photographer, who is a Candidate, said He wanted to change the direction of Our current Board, by emphasizing the budget!  He Said there is a need to review all contracts, to take bids from other service providers. He was joined by two other Candidates. They have received an endorsement from an ad hoc community
committee.
   
These three men said, they wanted to work together as a team, and would work to get better control of the budget. They believe they can reduce current spending by a modest 2%.

In addition they will demand bidding on contract renewals, as well as holding motions, involving an increase over, for a final review/hearing at budget time. They made a level headed presentation and seemed to draw some support from the Residents.

In a couple of weeks we will know if their plan for change was taken to heart - and the ballot box. At least the picture is good.

CANDIDATES NIGHT TONIGHT

Tonight is Candidates night here in the Community. The "Old Guy"  threatened to wear shoes with holes in them, and a shirt  in equally poor shape. He said this would help in his presentation of living on a "fixed income." I told him there were a few holes in his idea. 

God alone will help him. We are already feeling the stress of campaigning in what "He" thought would be a friendly election. I told him he would regret it. Maybe we won't. We will see.

Well, I can pin him down and post some facts. Here they are.  He (Dennis) likes everyone, but is running with two men (Mike and Barry). They have different personalities, but can work as a team.  

They have promised to work with the  Residents to bring about positive change. They intend to involve residents. 

The biggest area that they want to focus on is the Budget. This is what drains the money from your wallet. A modest 2% spending reduction would be nice way to start positive change here in VW. 

They offer the following thoughts:

1. Start Budget Review on Aug 30; 

2. Review all initially approved motions, with cash expenditures, for a final approval in September;   

3. Require Bids on all major expenditures by starting with contract reviews immediately.

Well, he said more but this is what I could gather. Of course I have to say these thoughts sound good. Lets see what happens on March 24. Lets remain friends after the election !

RUMMY KUBE

"Hurry up" she said, "Its' time for Rummy Kube."

The gang plays every Sunday up at Town Center for a couple of hours. Its a great way to make .75 or, lose .25,  and get a head ache in the process.

In between things the "Old Guy" had time to campaign. He is sounding pretty good too.

The way he has been working I almost forgot to write who is celebrating, what and when; He tells me it's my Job !

Anyway all by myself  I recall one Young Lady deserving His attention later on this month. 

I am sure she knows who she is. Check around the 27th to see if he remembered .

I also remember that these notations are "the wife's job."
