NEW FLYER LOOKS GOOD

Do you believe this?  Dennis saw red in his wallet down at staples when he purchased some new color letter style handouts to give to the Community regarding the March 24 Election. He is running for the Board.

The original flyer was produced by an "ad hoc" community committee. The group wanted to give their support to candidates that shared the groups concern regarding financial matters and transparency.

In an effort to support their views the Committee gave three men their approval and prepared a flyer to hand out. A problem arose almost immediately. It seems that a logo owned by the current Board screamed, "foul". The Board President stated this logo should be used only by the BOD.

That said, Dennis immediately got his own hand out and was seen almost daily at the Post Office handing it out, and making friends. "People seem to be interested when you share with them that you too are on a fixed income and want to make ends meet" he was heard to say.

Dennis B, Barry D, and Mike R were supported by the residents' committee. They are now working as a team to get elected and make some positive changes.

MORENO FRUZZETI PERFORMS AT TOWN CENTER

The Performing Arts Center presented a Show last Sunday (Feb 22). The single performer was Moreno Fruzzeti, and he did a fabulous job.

Mr Fruzzeti performs both comedy and beautiful vocals. He made sure the audience stayed on their toes by including a lot of audience participation parts.

Here are a few pictures of our PAC Staff, and the performer who brought the house down.

TRADE MARK - A BURNING ELECTION ISSUE

Candidates supported by an ad hoc Committee, that prepared a flyer to support three Candidates have received some heat from the Town Center Management Office.

What was the problem? Call out the Fire Department. Water down those flames!!! Okay, not so fast here. Send the Fire Dept back and get focused on the real issue.

It seems a logo was copied onto the flyer that Management states is  owned by them. Oops. It looks like someone goofed, but is this logo even legally registered?

What needed to be done here was for Management just to ask, "Hey Guys, Stop that."  But, they didn't. Instead they injected themselves into our election process. This is a bigger wrong then using the Logo.

Our Photographer/Candidate wrote the following letter, stating his view on the subject. Here it is.

Hi Maureen/Lynn

I saw your email regarding use of VeronaWalk Logo without authorization. This situation could/should have been handled in a different manner in my view.

I would suggest that the Management Office, being neutral in this election, ask the Board President to request the Residents Committee to simply stop using the Logo. At this point there has been no such  request.

I can not speak for the Resident's Committee, but I am sure that if they had it to do over,  they would not want to offend or detract from this Election with an issue such as this. Your message to our entire community disrupts and distracts from the Campaigns of all Candidates. That is unfortunate and wrong.

That said, we as residents, and candidates, should just move on, and focus on the issues, while Management focuses on their daily endeavors.

BALLOTS ARE OUT FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The ballots have been put in the mail to all homeowners. The mailings will go to the address listed by the property owner as their home address. Be sure to read the resumes and send in your ballot.

This blog has been reporting information regarding the election and Community issues for some time. We certainly know one  Candidate very well. He is our photographer, and has been very much involved in that wonderful area we call home for several years.

Dennis Beyer maintains the VeronaWalk Community TV Channel (195); has been a Street Representative since 2007; has been a member of CERT since inception; and has been a Member  of the Board for the Performing Arts Center. Those are just a few areas where he has given his time back to us.

As a Candidate, one will note, that He has an exceptional blend of Education, and Work Experience. Dennis hopes, if elected,  to bring his experience to our Board. He has committed himself to work for the following:

- A 2% Spending Reduction starting with the 2015 Budget

- To develop a policy where the "budget review process" starts no later then Aug. 30 of each year in order to get maximum community involvement

- To develop a policy of holding items, that will increase HOA Dues, until August for a final approval.

- To adhere to the concept of competitive bids for services and contracts.

- To explore a contractual relationship with another property management company.

BOCCE TOURNAMENT

On Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 the BOCCE Courts were surrounded by a million people, ESPN, and the Naples News. That might be over stating it a little. There were at least 100 residents on the scene to watch a Bocce Tournament between the VeronaWalk Men and Women's Teams.

We attended and enjoyed chatting with many friends while watching a well played tournament. There were no fights and the Sheriff did not have to respond at all.

It seems our Camera Guy kept everyone safe tonight. He simply pointed that new camera and said "Smile". It worked. He was also heard saying, "Open your eyes now" a few times. He was yapping so much you would think he is running for the Board of Directors in our Community. The pictures  make up for that.

Great job Ladies, and Gentlemen.

Below are the Teams' Picture taken prior to game.

This is someone. Not sure who because of the hoodie. Definitely not the Una bomber

It was so close they had to measure three balls !

VALENTINES AT BILL'S STEAK & SEAFOOD

Today was only the 12th. That didn't stop the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group from celebrating Valentines Day with their "Main Squeeze".

The gang went to Bill's Steak & Seafood and enjoyed a fabulous menu topped off with a Surf and Turf offering.

There were ninety-two people in attendance. The group was called to order when Diane stepped to the microphone, and made the claim she was Dennis Beyer. Everyone knew that wasn't true, but Diane is very good handling a "Mic."

After her it was "Hot Mic" as it got passed around quite a bit. At the end of the event we gave away three gift certificates and then enjoyed some dessert. And lets not forget music was presented by our very own Rock Condle.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
