RETIREMENT

The  "Verona Walk Resident" has reached the end of the road, and will enter,  an overdue but well deserved,  retirement.

Our blog got its' start in 2007 and had its' primary focus on the Community Family, as well as Our Personal Family. Over the years we posted pictures and commentary for the enjoyment of friends and family.

With a history of ten + years it is difficult to believe that this social experiment lasted a decade. As the owner it was an enjoyable hobby. It almost became a job, but did support and encourage an other hobby - photography.  That too has slowed and is resisting its' retirement.

This (writing the blog) has been fun, but it is time to call it "The End."  So long friends !

HORSE DUST

Some people called Horse "Shtuff" dust. That's because they don't want to use the gutter word for manure. All of that is to get you to the barn yard and horses.

This past Sunday, if you didn't see it on the front page of the Naples News, the Stable on Goodland Road had an open house. The were celebrating the "retirement" of two horses in their stable. Quite a day for these horses, but there is more to the story then their retirement.

The owners of the stable "rescue" horses which is quite an endeavor. These horses are used as part of the equestrian therapy offered by stable and professional staff. Their work was also celebrated on Sunday, with hot sandwiches and cookies.

Our grand-daughter attends once a week and has come along way. She loves the horses, and as the pictures show loves tigers too.

A BIT OF HUMOR: HAVE A LAUGH

We have not posted any neighborhood humor in a while, and to tell the truth I probably would not have shared this but I did smile and chuckle a little. I hope you do. Should you not like it just skip to next page or log out. Here it is:

Today, My wife said to me:

"Honey, get off your ass and fix that gutter downspout!
And, I want it done before the end of the day!"

Well, as you all know, at my age, and most of my friends, are retired and we do have the time to work on such "Honey do's"….

So, I invited some of my buddies over to help with the project.

One is a sheet metal worker.

One is a Iron Worker so he came with his welder.

One brought beer and Nachos.

One brought a grill and burgers.

Took us about 6 hours, and 30-40 beers, but we got it done just as we finished off the last of the beer and burgers.

As usual, the wife is still not happy !!

Can't understand, cause all us guys love it!

Personally, I cannot wait for it to rain

COYOTE'S TEAR RAIN PIPE FROM NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE

This rain pipe was ripped right off of the house up the street from us by a Coyote. There have been three incidents in here this last week. People have reported seeing a pack of three COYOTE'S running around in the late evening, and we also have had a bear 🐻I

We should call these guys "Smokey" (because of the fires in our Reserves) and "Wiley" (Coyote) and STAY INSIDE

EVERGLADES BOARDWALK

With the Grand daughter visiting, and now departed, I have some free hours with little to do. Rummy Kube just doesn't fill every hour of the day. So I have fooled around with some pictures and will post them here for your enjoyment.

They were from the Board Walk South on US 41 by the Indian Camp. Its a free walk in site with lots of animal life as you can see.

VETS HONORED AT SHULA"S

Dennis (Beyer) had the honor of being Master of Ceremonies for the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group's monthly luncheon. It was at SHULA's Steak House on Wednesday, April 5th.

Our group was honored to schedule Neighbor, Friend, and Vietnam Veteran Randy Kington to our lunch to recognize Vietnam Veterans. The group was surprised and happy to receive their awards.

Randy was assisted by Dennis Henderson, while I called out the names, and secured these pictures. Each of our Vets received a Proclamation from the President of the United States thanking them for their service

This was quite a great luncheon and the Prime Rib wasn't bad either.

COMPROMISED GATE

Last evening (Sunday) a Century Link Modem failed at the Gate House shutting down the entire system.

Century Link has been notified and will be here today (Monday) to correct the issue. Until the issue is corrected there is no way to reach the Gate House or enter any guests coming in.

The Gate House will do everything possible to let any service providers and guests into the property during this time. If they have questions, they will attempt to reach out to you. We are working to get this corrected as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for your patience as we work to correct this issue.

This message, of course, does not apply to our pictured friend above.
