JERSEY TRUCKER

Although "Bronchitis" hit the Jerseyites as much as the Floridians the "Old Guy" amused himself playing with trains and trucks. He behaved and shared the toys with Conner.

The new lady in the house also played very well with us adults. She was a pleasure to see. It was also a pleasure to see them go to bed !!!

HAVE A LAUGH

One of our neighbors sent this one over. If you don't like remember it was sent around four years ago with another candidates name in use.

"An elderly lady was walking on the golf course on the island of Martha's
Vineyard. She slipped and fell.

Obama who was behind her by chance, helped her to get up promptly. She
thanked him and he answered: "It was a pleasure to help you. Don't you
recognize me? I am your president. Are you going to vote for me in the next
election?"

The elderly woman laughed and replied: 'I fell on my
butt.... not my head!"

PULTE STOCK

Where is my money. I paid $6.42 a hundred years ago on this stock so can I retire?

Last numbers are $9.88.

Anybody know where all the Dollar Stores are located?

STOCKHOLM

Stockholm.  This was our 2nd "Port of Call."

The weather was better here compared to Copenhagen. Most of our group had a smile on. Running to the buses remained unchanged.

We had a couple of "Five minute" stops. I got a picture of a main street, and some odd looking dog standing in front of what I believe was called a tourist trap.  I liked the boats so I have to include the hatbox shot with multi color buildings in background.

The next, and last stop, was admission into the Vasa Museum. It pays to read and then act smart. Originally I thought this was an art show, but since I reviewed the tour description I knew it was about an old warship.

The Vasa, when built was the largest warship in the world. It was built to scare, and sink the Polish Navy. That is the truth!

Unfortunately, on its maiden voyage, it sank in its' own harbor. Three hundred years later it was raised and, ultimately,  made into a museum. The building is seven stories tall (just big enough to hold the restored ship). The Oak Wood hull is original.

WE HAVE A GRADUATE

Even though the "Old Guy" loves the kid He did not want to travel.  Now that he is here in New Jersey He sure is singing another tune. At least that is what his Lady tells me. What an eye opener.

I, your trusty neighbor, have no idea why the band played "On Wisconsin." The Lady said: "It sure did bring a big old tear to his tough eyes."  I guess he was just happy that Miss Cass graduated.

She will be off in September to an East Coast College. For sure it will drive her mom broke, but that is the cycle of life we all go through. We wish her well.

They plan to return soon. It seems, of all people, our "Mayor" would like Him back here. Lord help us.  Hope it is not another spelling error. If so blame it on this good old neighbor.  He is currently in charge.

COPENHAGEN

This was the first stop on the cruise portion of our trip. We docked on May 29th.

Our group ran (you can imagine us running)  to the dock around 9:00 AM.  It seemed like a million people were getting on those tour buses that quickly all looked alike. Out of one parking lot and into another for a  five minute look at the Little Mermaid.

First stop was Rosenberg Castle. I liked the architecture, the landscape, and the moat; But I can't recall very much on the inside. The twin Colt 45's were a gift from Abe Lincoln. The Crowns and Thrones were for both ends of their royal majesties.

After the history lesson we were off the fun and games at Tivoli Gardens. This was an old amusement part with beautiful gardens and shops. They could have balanced their budget just selling umbrellas and pocket warmers. My Queen sure was cold.

LONDON TOWER BRIDGE, THE TOWER, AND GREENWICH

Word just came in from our photo shop. The Guy with the camera has completed the pictures from the United Kingdom.

He said, he liked the  London area the best out of the entire trip. I agree.

Here are a few of  the Tower Bridge, and London Tower. Next are a couple from greenwich. This is home of the Naval College, and the Cutty Sark

I said I liked them so He is all smiles and gave me the OK to post them. Can you believe He thought, because he wore the old uniform, they would actually let him sail the boat. He didn't even get to ring the Ships Bell.

STONHENGE, BATH & WINDSOR CASTLE TOUR

I am surprised, but the "Old Guy" has not been doing his job as fast as usual. He said he is maybe half way done deleting and editing. I think he needs a new battery.

He said I could use the pictures from Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor Castle.

Windsor Castle was a major stop during the visit to UK. This is out in the country, and the area is a complete (tourist trap) Village. The Castle was great and, as the pictures reveal, we were on time to see the Changing of the Guard.

Stonehenge, as you can see, is a lot of stones set in a great big circle with other stones on top. The actual appearance did not measure up to the pre-visit hype, but still this one gets checked off the bucket list.

The Town of Bath was an unexpected pleasure. We ate in the Town Square, and were entertained by a Street Performer. We also got a view of the Cathedral.

I know he was happy with the changing of the Guard. I think he took a million shots of theme before editing the number down.

Give a peak at these pictures especially the "Guys in Red."

FUN ON & AROUND THAMES RIVER

Well everyone knew that when we returned they would be subjected to looking at our pictures. The "Old Guy" took four batteries and five memory cards with him. I'd say he was prepared.

He told me he had over 1000 to play (edit) with on the computer. I took a few from London, with his blessing. These are around the Thames River. The time piece is "Big Ben,"  and the huge Ferris Wheel is "The London Eye."

Hope you like these, and please note: There will be more.

DOG OF THE MONTH

It is time for another  "Pooch."

Since the early part of the year we have posted  apicture of the dogs that participated in the "Smooch a Pooch" event at Town Center. This guy was obviously a happy dog that day.

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY

My Lady does not have to "Me" tell to remember this birthday. She can stop playing that song over and over by Randy and the Rainbows  over and over.  I know it is Denise's birthday.

She was named after the song.  She is doing quite well and we are proud of her. A Mom, a Daughter, and a Nurse all in one birthday girl.

She celebrates number 25 today. Song is just a click below  !!!

EUROPE VACATION OVER

I, trusty neighbor, stayed here in  The Walk  while the bosses took a trip.  What else is new?

My job was to keep an eye on the Pulte Stock, tell a joke, and just keep things under control.  This time they left me a DVD to watch - EUROPEAN VACATION.

I have seen the movie a number of times. Don't say anything to them. They will be off soon enough, and not to Disney. I am sure I will get instructions.

WHERE IS THE BOWLING TEAM

Here we are in June and this  fan is wondering about the bowlers. They are now in a league (technically). The great thing is they don't have to show up on a regular basis.

Our roving camera guy checked the lanes out Friday  (June 9) and didn't see many, if any, bowlers. The place was empty including the two pictured above. We found there picture in the archive.

The official report is filled with comments like: In London with Tour; Out sick; Up in New Jersey; and Just didn't feel like it today. What a Group.

GOOD JOB BY OUR HOST GENTLEMAN

Our last Lunch was at Stonewalls on Marco Island.  They are on Collier Blvd. and this month served a fine group of VeronaWalk Gentlemen for their legendary  First Wednesday Luncheons.

The boss usually attends. He would had more to say about it then me. I  had a ride so I attended. That Pastrami &and Cornbeef combo was out of this world.  It was offered at a great price too.

The festivities were handled by one of the original Gentlemen. He proved himself to be a true connoisseur of local food, and maintained complete order  as master of Ceremonies

RUMMY KUBE - HOUSE RULES ONLY

There are at least 12 - 16 people at  any given "Rummy Kube Day."  Each has played for  quite a while, but in different parts of the country. When they all converge and discuss their rules you can quickly learn there are many rules.

The discussions here in "The Walk" have been going on for a long while also. When they are over it comes down to "House Rules."

What this means is "Don't you dare touch that joker without knowing "Our "Rules."  You could wind up in the lake.

OUT OF THE PICTURE FILE

While He is over there in London or Russia I was authorized to peek in his picture files. I found one that I really like so here it is.

The Lady sent an email advising: "Camera Guy is on the job over there. I wonder if he will have any pictures of himself with the Queen or maybe another with the Mayor. We will see in a few days.

For now I am posting this one simply because I like it. I think everyone who comes to Naples takes a version of this picture.

HURRICAN SEASON STARTS

It is official. We are now in Hurricane Season.

Our Safety Guy says: "You should not have a problem immediately, but take the time now to develop your 2012 Hurricane plan."

Know what you are going to do before the take cover warning comes. Know where your shutter "wing nuts" are located.  If you don't own one now is the time to purchase a wing nut fastener like the one pictured. Better yet get one for your battery operated  drill/driver.

While our homes are well built, and have shutter protection for the windows, when a hurricane is coming  it is not wise to  ride it out.   The smart thing to do is to: Get out of townYou can always come home after the storm !

JUNE DATES TO REMEMBER

There is one and this lady knows. It was number one. The "Old Guy" should not have a problem remembering this, but lets just keep an eye out to see if "He" writes a note.
