BADGE SHOW

The Boss is taking off again. This time it is a Badge Show.

You all know he collects those things, and has actually won prizes for his displays. The show will be in Titusville, Fl. Below is a picture of one of his prize possessions.

The plan is for him to have the car packed with police memorabilia  and then his other items. She will pack too. And he fears the won't get off on time, just like last year when he was caught speeding out of here on only two wheels.

After the show they will pack up again. The pace will still be hectic as they must now travel to the Queen's favorite place. She has a friend (see below) who will be waiting to welcome the gang for a few days.

PULTE STOCK

A brand new Year and we are still posting the progress of our builders stock. Remember we purchased 100  shares a few years ago and have seen the investment go in both up and down.

Our original "investment" was $6.42 or $642 for all 100 shares.

At the end of this month the value was $16.10

We don't like the down  movement here - almost 25%

SNOW POUNDS NJ AND RAVEN

This beautiful dog is RAVEN. With all that Snow in Jersey it was not fun for this dog.

The snow was almost at jaw height.

So glad our address is VeronaWalk,  FLA. and Not NJ

HAVE A LAUGH

Our good neighbors continue to send a joke in to share, so here is one that we feel is clean enough, and funny too. PLUS it is a picture so you don't even have to read it.

Enjoy it:

FAKAHATCHEE STRAND BOARDWALK

We took a drive a couple of days ago South on US 41. It was like a half-hour ride when we saw the Indian Store and lot of parking. Off to the side  was a path that led to a boardwalk.

It took about two minutes to leave all trace of highway, and Indians to disappear. All sorts of trees were to my right. All sorts of trees were to my left. Up ahead were more, only taller. Soon the blocked the sky out. Looking down a huge couple of feet was dark brown water and cypress knees.

I saw enough, but forced my legs to take me down the Boardwalk to the end. I passed an Eagles nest way up high in a tree. Someone said, it weighed a ton. I accepted that as a fact. Nobody was at home in the Nest, so who could I ask.

At the end of a mile or so there was a bench seat built into a viewing platform. This was the end of the trail, and where we turn around. Of course someone saw an Alligator that didn't want to be seen. So we spent forever looking up, down, over and under to see its' side and portions of its legs.

Finally I got the troops set to move on back to the car. Then up in the sky I spotted what looked like an Eagle. He was flying over the tree tops and circling. I think he was headed for that giant nest that I saw earlier. He needed just one thing before landing there and that was for us to go.

The Eagle was, I am sure, safe and sound in that nest. All we had to do before getting into the car was take a peek at another gator. This one had baby  gators running all over her. Catch the one on her head. I mean that figuratively.

MATLACHE STILL INTERESTING

What do you do when you have visitors in your house? You find some place that is both interesting, and has food.

That plan was recently followed when we had a guest from New Jersery in our home for a few days.  She is "Old Guys's" girlfriend (Grand Daughter).  We took her up to Matlache. Naturally she was shy and I couldn't get her picture, but we did take the shots below.

We also found a coupon in the International Dinning Book and enjoyed a $10 savings at the waterfront restaurant pictured below:

VERONAWALK AUTHOR RELEASES NEW BOOK

In my spare time I manage Jersey Joe. Together we are concerned primarily with advancing his musical career. While he writes and sings, it is my job to find him gigs here and there. It was "there" that sparked another area for "my man" to show his creativity. At first I thought he wanted to be a comedian when we talked about our mutual home - New Jersey. Comedian "No," but author "yes."

It seems "Jersey Joe" wanted to shovel some ______,  so I encouraged him to write a book. Now I am pleased to tell our world that "Places I Have Shat" has been released.

Check it out on Amazon. $12.99

VISIT FROM JERSEY

It is that time of the year that it gets COLD up north. When that happens in New Jersey we seem to get an increase in questions like, "Can I come visit for a few days."

Bottom line here is the old guy must do an airport run tomorrow.

Our number 1 daughter will spend  some time with us, and we will certainly try some fine Naples Restaurants. Maybe the Camera Guy will get some free medical advice from his personal nurse.

HAIR DRESSERS TO RENT OFFICE SPACE

The Board of Directors announced that the building, currently known as the "Wellness Center" will have a new tenant. This was part of Jan. 13's Agenda.

Apparently the Board received two bids that were identical. What do you do?

The bidders resolved the question by merging their businesses. Nice. It turns out to be a win/win. Our Community will get rent, and their will not be a loser in the bidding process.

LAKES STILL LOOK GOOD

There was a report that a neighbor poured a bucket of water in the canal a couple of weeks ago, however we do not think that is the reason the canals are looking full.

It is January and the water level usually is on the way down, down, down. Not this year so far.

Take a look and see if you don't agree that it looks good.

KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN

The Holidays are over. It is now 2016. It is time to just sit back and rest.

Having said "Rest" we must remind you all to stay vigil lent.  Keep your eyes open and report unusual behavior to the Sheriff

It is your eyes and those of your neighbor that keeps us safe from major crime. For that we should be thankful, but we need to remember to be alert.
