The Grandmother of all Blonde Jokes This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these Blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid. So, she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart. While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house.The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a heavy parka and a leather jacket at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she if OK. She replies yes. He asks what she is doing and she replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb, and she wanted to do it by painting the house. He then asks her why she has a parka over her leather jacket. She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and it said... "FOR BEST RESULTS.... PUT ON TWO COATS"

PRINCESS HAS 5TH BIRTHDAY

During that "Away time in NJ" the team had the occasion to attend a birthday party for a Princess.

Katelyn was five years old, and wanted a royal party with Cake friends, gifts and a real castle. One would think the last part would be difficult, but it was only a little challenge for the "Lady in Red" better known in the kingdom as Queen Mom.

Armed with large cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, paint, duck tape, and glue the dream castle materialized at the birthday party. It was a huge hit with all the kids, and as time would have it stands tall today.

This was a great day for young and old. The best of wishes, naturally, go to our little Princess: Happy Birthday.

FIRST GRANDCHILD GRADUATES

One of the reasons for heading North was the graduation from Summit High School (NJ) of the first Grand Child. At this point there are eleven more to go.

Hard to believe but this graduate is now eighteen years old - an adult. The Grandmother is also very proud.

The family wishes her well in all her future endeavors. In addition there is also one extra big hug for her. We know horse back riding will continue to be in her plans, and why not. She is a good kid and has always loved this sport.

GONE AGAIN

Those guys are "Gone Again." The left today, and also left this keyboard in the hands of the trusty old neighbor (Me). I know what to do. I'll always be brief, and to the point ... if there is a point. Now I am going fishing for a while..

JERSEY JOE TO PLAY POOLSIDE

The news is out. Next month "Jersey Joe" will headline an event at our local pool. The date to remember is Aug. 15.

In addition to some fine music a meal that features: Corn on the Cob & a Fish Fry will be offered for $16. "Joe" knows his food and will certainly take some time to join in with friends at mealtime. We just must make sure he gets back to work.

This event sounds like justification something to start saving those dollars.

VALENTINA CT STREET (POOL) PARTY

The neighbors on Valentina Ct held "another" Street Party on June 10.

This one was for absolutely "No Good Reason." It was just the right time, the right mood and the right thing to do.

We gathered, not in the usual location, but at the Town Center Pool. We started around 5:30 PM, enjoying a dip in the arctic waters of our beautiful pond. Temperature was more like 88 degrees and it felt nice to be in. Like the kids we are there were lots of splashing and screams. We also had the pleasure of having the biggest Racoon in the area visit us for, we guess, his late night snack.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Wow, another kid having another birthday.

In this picture she is holding antique medical tools which she collects. It was years of study and hard work that today makes her an excellent Nurse both on the floor at the hospital she works in, but also in the community where she has repeatedly stepped right into the middle of an emergency to save a life.

It is amazing that this girl is having another 25Th birthday. Who counts anyway. She will be celebrating up in NJ with her kids and sisters. We hope she has a great day.

BUSINESS AREA STILL BEING REPAIRED

The workers are very active in the area of "The Town Center Flood. The Businesses, where the leak started, are still closed. The restoration team is working inside these units, and, in the hallway, behind the Bank, Travel Agency, and Convenience Store.

It looks like they have a good handle on the job they are doing. The hope is the work will be done soon and our friends are back in business.

SURGERY DAY

It is always something. This time it is something unexpected. My Lady and I are keeping the fingers crossed as our "Baby" undergoes surgery in a couple of hours to remove a portion of her kidney. The hope is the nasty growth inside will be captured and all will end well.

Now this is something. The "Old Guy" actually looked at this new website!

He was interested because the the talent that designed a couple of our local blogs did the work on this one too. Naturally he is pleased with 'his little' girl and her work. Mom is too.

BLAST AT DISNEY

The "downside" of the last trip to Disney is everyone has to look at all those pictures.

The Lady said I could only "post" a couple. Those should make it clear that at least one little guy had a great time. He would gladly have stayed an extra day, and do every ride at magic Kingdom all over again.

Well Kid: "Just behave yourself and Wait until next year !"

SLAVE LABOR & DISNEY VISIT AGAIN

Management has not read the child labor laws, and also believes that little kids should pitch in and earn their keep. Since we had the opportunity to baby sit this child, and to be on the road again to Disney, with the other grandchild, a certain need had to be remedied.

The car was dirty. The "Old Guy" was tired, but help was available, so why not take advantage of it. Yes the kid got put to work, and did a good job.

In the end she learned (I think) an important lesson, and the car looked good.

TOWN CENTER OPEN

Mark today as the Re-Opening of Town Center following the "flood" from broken air conditioning pipe. The flood took place May 17.

It has been reported that the pipe broke to the rear of the private businesses above a hallway. The Flood seriously impacted those businesses, our card room and adjacent areas.

The business area will remain closed as the sign on Mattie's place clearly reads. In the Card Room work continues in that area of Town Center.

Lets hope that from this experience we as a community can benefit from this experience and develop plans to handle water, electrical, air conditioning or any other problem. Let's develop a useful calling chain, and let's identify experts in the community who could be called on in an emergency.

We have a great community here in Naples, and with a little extra effort we can and should protect it.
