LUNCH TIME FOR THE GENTLEMEN

Trattoria Per Tutti is the location of the next (Dec. 5th)  Lunch sponsored by the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group. Trattoria is opening their doors for a private lunch and will feature an outstanding menu for this event.

It is time to get your RSVP submitted. The Group meets always on the First Wednesday of the Month. 

This will be the last meeting of 2012. It promises to be an interesting afternoon. The agenda is set to offer the finest of "Food, Fun, and Friendship."

Our fantasy dollars doubled by mid year, and approaching the end of 2012  are "Looking Good.

The end point for November is  $16.72   which is up from the initial investment of  $6.43

The VeronaWalk Gentelmen's Group will have a  Brunch  on Sunday December 9, at 11:00 AM. 

It will be at the Cafe Verona. The Ladies are included in this event. Cost is $15.00 all inclusive.

THE "OLD GUY" CELEBRATES ANOTHER

 I think, He did not want to remember this one, but today is  his birthday. I think I know it better then Him, as we have celebrated quite a few together.

He can keep right on hoping for that nice car, but He is not getting it this year. Not on my salary !!!

JFK ASSASSINATION

It was on this day in 1963 that President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed. This bit of history took place in Dallas, Texas.  Along with the "9-11 World Trade Center" tragedy, the assassination of JFK is still fresh in my memory.

Maybe on the 50th anniversary (next year) of this event our Government will tell us more about what actually happened. 


The "wanting to know" keeps me motivated to be here next year. I like to know things, and admit I am curious about what happened in Benghazi, Libya too.

REPORT FROM "OUR ADVANCE DISNEY SCOUTS"

We are getting ready to do a trip to Disney. Hard to believe, right?

The "Old Guy" just wanted to be safe so He had this great (So he says) idea of sending friends up a couple weeks prior to our trip. Their mission was to make sure all the Christmas Decorations were in place.

They have submitted their report. All is well. The place not to miss is Hollywood Studios, and a wonderful light display. We will get some pictures for you all.

HAYLEY & GUNNAR CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS THIS WEEK !!!

November is a busy month. Not counting the "Old Guy" there are a couple of grand kids worthy of noting this month.


They are:  Hayley 21st, and  Gunnar 17th (Today).  

They are close enough to note today.  "We did not forget".  Hayley is in her British Shirt, and Gunnar is pictured with his friends. He is in the middle.

Last year we took pictures of the dogs that participated in the community event called: "Smooch a Pooch." We have selected one dog each month to show for your enjoyment here.

COMMUNITY CELEBRATES VETERANS DAY

On Friday, Nov. 9 2012 The VeronaWalk Community celebrated Veterans Day. The actual date for this holiday is the eleventh.

The Town Center was filled. Everyone was treated to the presentation of our flag by a Color Guard from our Sheriff's Office. After that the treats continued with several patriotic songs sung by our own Chorus under the direction of Jersey Joe.

All Veterans were self introduced and received  a loud ovation  from friends and family.

The event concluded with the sharing of baked goods made by our Ladies.

CAPRICCIO'S LUNCH

The "Choice of the Menu" and a fabulous price is what made the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group lunch a huge success on Wednesday (Nov 7). There were over four dozen residents in attendance. They all managed to squeeze in at the table. Judging from the numbers it looks like "Season" has arrived.

The guy's have been doing a lunch on the "First Wednesday of the Month" for quite some time. Their numbers just keep on growing. This is attributed to an agenda that focuses on "Food, Fun, and Friendship. 

OUCH ! MY FINGER HURTS

 

Ouch ! Look what I did to my finger !  This had nothing to do with (Hurricane) "Sandy."  Poor Conner!  He looks like it hurts no matter what or who was the cause.

Mom "always tells me to shut the door."  "She should have also told me to get my hand out of the way."

The lesson has been learned. At least we hope the lesson is learned. Kids don't hear that well.

FOUR IN A ROW FOR THE OLD GUY IN RUMMY KUBE

While His Queen was in New Jersey,  he got to play Rummy Kube with the ladies all by himself. He was pleased that he was able to go alone, and didn't need any directions. He even got there on time.

The "Old Guy" is now in the record book, in his mind, as he won four in a row. Of course that changed when She returned to La Casa de Verona.

That is a big deal for the VeronaWalk  Rummy Kube League. It adds up to a whole dollar in winnings. Wow !

SANDY: "GAS CANS FILLED"

 

Our daughter lost electric in the wake of "Sandy."  She has a generator which was good. The hangup was it required gasoline to make it work.  

A telephone call from a friend gave a location, in Pennsylvania, that had no lines, and plenty of gas. Problem solved.

The last time I saw pictures like this my daughter (Who took this picture) wasn't even born. Richard Nixon was President, and he had a great idea - Energy Independence. He advocated for cars that would go 20- 25 mpg etc, etc, etc.

All that would be in 1974. Glad those days are long gone. 

The picture suggests that the five gallon gas containers are back solving our current post SANDY storm problems. Check the line at the local Exxon station.

TIME TO SIGN UP FOR LUNCH

 
The VeronaWalk Gentlemen have scheduled their next "First Wednesday of the Month"  Lunch for November 7.  It is time to get your RSVP submitted, to reserve a spot at the table. Lunch is at 12:00 NOON.

This month your VW Lunch group will go to Capriccio's on Airport Road, and Pine Ride Roads. 

This restaurant has be come a favorite with its' choice of the menu offer. This will certainly top an Agenda that is always filled with "Food, Fun, and Friendship."

A FEW MORE PICTURES FROM "SANDY"

These pictures are from the Morris/Union County area of New Jersey. The damage was caused by Hurricane "Sandy".

This area is well above sea level, so no flooding BUT the wind and rain did its damage here as the pictures show. Some homes in the area (New Providence) still are having problems with telephone and electric service. 

We do hope this is the last storm of the season. Our Reporter will be leaving New Jersey on Saturday to come back home to VeronaWalk.

NOVEMBER'S DATES TO REMEMBER

The year is closing down fast.

 He is asleep so I have the "job" of doing the reminders that we have quite a few dates to recall this month. If he is still asleep at the switch when those dates come up  I'll just do the best wishes job. I usually do anyway.
