HAVE A LAUGH

Although the neighbors have left they remain hooked up with the email. So here is another bit of Verona walk Humor. Enjoy it.
                      .......................................

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol . . .
. . . Dead

The second worm in cigarette smoke . . .Dead

Third worm in chocolate syrup . . . . Dead

Fourth worm in good clean soil . . .Alive …

So the Minister asked the congregation,
"What did you learn from this demonstration?"

Maxine was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said . . .
"As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate

you won't have worms!"

That pretty much ended the service
!

PARTYING IN JERSEY

He sent a message that he is ready to come home. Of course he said that before he left

She sent a message that they are partying and having a good time up in the NorthLand (Jersey).

The report says they are staying at Cathy's in the quaint little town of New Providence. There a birthday will serve as a reason to gather in her backyard and do their party thing. It is Katelyn's birthday. She is eight soon and the grandparents want to start celebrating early. Time is flying.

To the north is another backyard in Franklin, NJ.  This one will host a group  celebrating a couple of graduations.

The guys being honored are Thor and Magnus. Thor is now out of High School, and Magnus will just be starting it this FalI.

If the adults ever come up from their celebrating I am sure their best wishes will be extended to these fine young guys. And I, the "Trusty Neighbor," will also join in with my best wishes too. Now give me a drink !

PULTE STOCK

Anyone want to give me another imaginary one hundred dollars to invest? I need the money as I didn't get the job with Pulte.

Look at Pulte Stock today. What a job I did. With a mere $6.42 a share I purchased 100 shares which are now at $18.47 the last time I looked

That is a WOW for sure, and a good profit, but hopefully not the start downward trend.

After I explain to IRS that my profit is imaginary, I will look into an age -discrimination lawsuit against the Feds . Maybe I can make some real money off Uncle Sam.

ALL ALONE

Okay "He" has departed for NJ. So I am really here alone.

He will meet his wife and be staying with daughter number three. That is nice. They have their African drums and are ready to party.

While the wife was gone "He" gave me no problems coming in their house and checking the Blog. I did my job, and like the Boss Lady said, He would read and sleep. He did. That was nice too.

I hope He has a good few days up North with the family and enjoys the Graduation parties. I'll continue the watch down here in VeronaWalk. I am sure I will also get along with our spelling editor. He does a good job and is appreciated.

FOLLOWING THE "BAD SEED"

photo 2.JPG

Well folks they are up in NJ, and never would think that I would actually do some follow-up on their "Bad Seed" post. But I will do just that. As a former teacher I always want the lesson fully presented.

First I noted that in the original post the complaint number was not reported. There is no reason not to publish it so here it is:  "CE PM 20130008645" Right now an inspection is scheduled for July 19.

Second, if you are curious and want to see what your government is doing, you will need this number when you go to their site I'll put it below:

NEIGHBOR IN CHARGE

I went away for a while and thought they forgot all about me. I noticed a little gap in their stories while they were,  of all places, Disney. In fact I heard She was in the hospital. Maybe that is why they were slow with the posts.

Well I am back and again they will be on the road. First stop, not counting the weekend visit to "Mickey," is New Jersey.

They will be there a week or so, then hit the road for a long awaited trip to Hawaii at the end of July. Actually "She will be gone longer as "He" won't be going to NJ except for the weekend. That's cool, because She said, I could still be in charge.

I'll keep you posted as the news" comes in, but it will be my usual  "short and sweet." Not only is this trusty neighbor in charge of the keyboard, but I have to watch their castle in case some bad storm heads our way.

CLEARED FOR NEWARK

First thing I will report is "She's" gone. Jet Blue carried her off his morning to beautiful Newark, NJ

"He" is still around but staying out of my hair. I will do my thing here, and he won't give a peep. Guess that is good.

He goes in a few days and I will let you all know about his departure for sure.

BAD SEED IN OTHERWISE BEAUTIFUL GARDEN TYPE NEIGHBORHOOD

photo 2.JPG

photo 1.JPG

Verona Walk is a neighborhood set in a Beautiful Garden like atmosphere. Most people would agree with that. It is a great place to live and enjoy green grass, nice plants and tall trees.

Unfortunately there is at least one home, on Valentina Ct, that is a "bad seed." It adds nothing to property values, and actually is a dangerous location. The screen doors are not locked, there is no pool safety fence,  and there are plenty of toys that might attract a small child into a pool area that is filthy, filled with bacteria, runaway weeds, and has mold.

The pictures above were taken by our Safety Guy. Click Click is all it took and a picture of record was established.

A call to Code Enforcement was made  and a complaint was taken. Interesting - The progress can be followed on line   (www.colliergov.net).

Another contact was made to the Sheriff's Department. Two officers responded. From the front of this home all looks normal, but, as the deputies found, it isn't. That is their cars parked while they investigate this "open house."

They too are following through and will see to it that the house is secured so people don't illegally enter and spend time (squat) in property that isn't theirs.

Neighbors are encouraged to call the Sheriff if anyone is seen on this property that is a stranger.

FATHERS DAY 2013

IMG_3757.JPG

Over all it was a good day. I got a call from all my daughters.  There are five. I didn't even have to remind them to call. They have been trained well.

Late in the day I also got a visit  from my Little Princess.  It was a delight even if she stayed with me only 3.5 minutes. Grandma took her to be with her.

While Grandma played I got a chance on the keyboard. Looks like I remember how to do this. I'll still let her and the neighbor do the writing. I'll do the pictures.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

PARTY FOR NEW ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

Thursday (June 13) was the day we had a kick off  party for our new activities Lady.

Maria has already occupied the office, and has been busy learning the ropes. She is eager to do a good job.

By time the Summer ends she will be up to speed and a real pro setting up dances and arranging trips for the residents. We wish her well.

PICTURES FROM DISNEY - WE WENT AGAIN

A wedding in the area prompted us to add a couple days to the trip and stay once again in Disney-World.

This time we stayed at Pop Century and spent a little less money, but enjoyed ourselves just fine. Even those little Ducks enjoyed staying here. They hung out by our room. Nice to see.

As luck would have it his camera broke and we only took a few pictures. He has sent it back to Nikon to get fixed for the big trip to Hawaii.

For now the pictures above are yours to enjoy. The Queen did not get the keys to that little red car like she hoped she would. A picture will have to do.

FIRST BORN CELEBRATES 25TH BIRTHDAY

It is hard to believe. It seems like only yesterday the first of many females entered our lives.

Today is her birthday. She is, I am told  25. My memory fades at times. That keeps me out of trouble.

Hope she has many more good ones.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENISE

GONE AGAIN, BACK TO DISNEY

They split once again for Disney, and I volunteered to take some time on the keyboard. I have some free time and actually enjoy saying a few words to my friends. Another neighbor is helping me with the spelling.

It was early when they left. He said the main reason for this trip is a wedding in the Orlando area. "Need a place to stay so why not do Disney," were his words. It makes sense.

I hope there is no repeat of that nasty illness that caught her when visiting Down Town Disney six weeks ago.

I found a picture in his photo files. I don't think he will mind if I share it. I know he will have new "pics" when he returns.

FISH AND CHIPS THE CHOICE AT JOES CRAB SHACK

It is the off season and everyone is supposed to be up "North. Not True.

A small crowd was expected, but the number that showed up, at Joe's Crab Shack, was twice the number from the previous June. The VeronaWalk  Gentlemen's Group must be doing something right as their membership just keeps growing.

Maybe the attraction was water front dinning. The menu item that got the  most attention was Joe's Fish and chips. Fine views of the Gordon River didn't hurt either.

Our reporter noted the group stuck to its agenda. A few reports were given, and then it was on to the fun stuff.

We look forward to another great event next month. The July location will be Cafe Verona in our own backyard

GOOD SUNDAY AT RUMMY KUBE

Of course he didn't want to go but I dragged him out just so he  would move his old bones.

We went up to Town Center this past Sunday to play Rummy Kube. It was a large crowd. There were three tables with players,

Naturally I got rewarded with the "Old Guy" at my table. Darn. He kept quiet most of the time and did behave. But he won too. Double Darn !

I think I will call IRS and fix his wagon. By their standards he is a gambler and a blog reporter. Maybe I should just ask for my .25 back.

INDY 500 WINNER

There was no event at Town Center to watch the big race together on the big screen. I stayed home with a plan to watch it. It turns out I missed most of it at home, in fact I missed it all. All my info comes from various reports.

I was told this was the finish line for our little  Winner. I hope she didn't borrow the jeep from someone in the community.

Bottom line is Good Job Calli.

SATURDAY MORNING ON THE DOUBLE SUNSHINE

Saturday, June 1, and away from VeronaWalk there was fun on the high seas !

My "Queen" had a day
out. The weather did not look promising at 8:00 AM, but by 10:00 AM there were patches of blue in the sky. So out she went on a sea voyage.

Of all things she took a ride on the "Double Sunshine." That boat is a favorite for the residents in our community. This time she went with "LJ" our daughter.

They also took Cameron and his little sister Calli. That is them individually and with heir Mom.

They managed to take a lot of pictures for me,  including  a dolphin that looked like he was chasing the boat. It jumped up a couple of times in the boats wake, and a good shot proves it.

Enjoy the pictures.

JOE'S CRAB SHACK WILL HOST VERONAWALK GENTLEMEN'S LUNCH

We just learned that the Veronawalk Gentlemen's Group will have their next lunch on June 5. That is, as always, on "The First Wednesday of the Month."

This lunch will be at "Joe's Crab Shack" located on Tamiami Trail across from Tin City. It is a waterfront restaurant and certainly will provide excellent views of the Naples boat traffic. Plus the food is good too.

It is time to sign up, so get your RSVP in soon.

JUNE DATES TO REMEMBER

There is one that I know the "Old Guy" won't forget. It is his number one.
