HAVE A LAUGH

IT'S Funny, or so a neighbor thought.

A particularly voluptuous waitress wearing a very short skirt and legs that won't quit, came
To his table and asked if he was ready to order,

"What would you like, sir?"

He looks at the menu and then scans her beautiful frame top to bottom, then answers, "A quickie."

The waitress turns and walks away in disgust.
After she regains her composure she returns and asks again, "What would you like, sir?"

Again the man thoroughly checks her out and

Again answers, "a quickie, please." This time her anger takes over, she reaches over and slaps
Him across the face with a resounding "SMACK!"
And storms away.

A man sitting at the next table leans over and whispers, "Um, I think it's pronounced 'quiche'."

WE ARE BACK

Hey again to our friends. We are back from NJ and couldn't be happier. The air up there seems to breath and say "Zyrtec, Zyrtec Zyrtec."

Things look good here. We heard there was rain, but see no sign of it in the canal.

Well we are quickly back to routine of eating outside in morning and nursing a cup of coffee. See you soon.

"I'M WATCHING YOU"

Hey, look up in the sky ! What is it?

It's only me with my newest electronic gadget. It's a DRONE.

Look real close and you will see me looking at you. In other words there is a camera which helps operator steer this contraption from a few miles away. Amazing.

Imagine if we used it to monitor those bikes coming in around the gate, or through the back end of our ranchero. We could follow them right to somebody's door. God I hope nobody wants to spend money to do that.

NO SWIMMING; POOL TO BE RESURFACED

We must admit we don't always check the HOA site for news but we did recently only to see the following sad message. Well the work has to be done
The resort pool will be closed from July 11 through August 1, 2016 for pool resurfacing.

Just be patient and don't swim in our canals even if the water looks inviting.

GOOD DOGGIE

AP Maxx the dog

Here is some news about a Hero Dog. His name was Maxx. This all happened a couple days ago North of us. It is a nice story as nobody was injured.

Authorities in central Florida say a German shepherd helped firefighters locate the two young children of his owners in heavy smoke as a blaze destroyed their home.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the dog named Maxx helped firefighters find the 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl Monday night in their home in the Orlando suburb, Longwood.

Moments earlier, neighbors who saw the fire spreading called 911, broke windows and helped evacuate the children's mother.

GOOD LUNCH FOR GENTLEMEN AT OLD MARCO LODGE

The Community's Gentlemen's Group had their May Lunch at the Old Marco Lodge in Goodland. The date was May 4th. It was a great day to enjoy the water views

This was a good crowd for the off season. We had 30 members present. We continued to have a well organized agenda that provided laughs, friendship and good food. No wonder we are the community's number one lunch group going on ten years now.

The Lodge offered fine burgers, but they also served a fabulous fish sandwich. It was impossible to tell which was the preferred choice. The Guys will do it again next month. Look for the announcement.

BOD AWARDS MANAGEMENT CONTRACT TO SWPM

At an unusual time the BOD met to interview candidates for the job of managing the VeronaWalk Community. The meeting was set for 8:00 AM.

Two companies were presented to the BOD by its' Contracts Committee for further consideration. They were Cardinal Management, and First Services Management Group.

A report was prepared for the BOD by the Committee and cited areas of concerns that they had which led to the unanimous recommendation of Cardinal and First Service. Financial control was offered as a major reason to consider these companies, while the 20% savings was also mentioned.

The current management company, South West Property Management was added to the list by motion of the Board. With that the BOD  interviewed three companies.

At the end of all the debate there was a 2-2 tie on the motion to hire SWPM. That tie was broke by the Board President who, before casting his ballot, said the Old Board bore a good deal of responsibility for problems in the community. He would not blame the management company for failures of the Board.

Then the vote was cast for SWPM. The reaction was shock and silence but no rioting screams of anger. Just shock.

Now the decision has been made. It was in the right hands for making the call. Now simply: We move on.

BOD MEETING CANCLED

The May 4 Meeting of our Board Of Directors has been canceled due to a death in the family of one of the Board Members.

The Board was to interview candidates to manage this Community and to then make a decision.

Frank Boroweic feels this is a very important vote for our future and wants all members of the Board to participate so he will reschedule the meeting.

Smart and caring move Mr. President.

CAR SHOW AT ELKS

A few days back we went to the Elk's Club. The had a Pancake Breakfast and a Car Show. A lot of Verona Walk Residents were there too

Here are some pictures of the cars mostly 50's. We had a good time until Uncle Sam started to snoop. He's lucky that this "Bird" didn't get shot out of the sky.

We took the Red Camaro to make our escape from the drone. Who owned that thing ?

FROM BETTER DAYS

We found this picture during a search. It is from Nov. 2014. Dennis and I visited his cousin Judy in Nutley NJ. If we were up in Jersey we often visited Judy And Frank. We were all smiles and happy when this picture was taken.

On Saturday Judy's sister, Rebecca Cowley died. Tuesday is her funeral.

We can not be there in person, but through prayers we are with cousin Judy during this sad sad time. Our prayers are with you.

THINGS TO NOTE FOR MAY

It looks like this is going to be a month without major family birthdays to note.  That makes this job easy. Even I with that Swiss Cheese Brain can handle May's assignment.

I will note now that there is a big holiday at the end of the month.
