HAVE A LAUGH

Summer humor offered by a neighbor. Enjoy it.

Ole is the Pastor of the local Norwegian Lutheran Church and Pastor Sven is the minister of the Swedish Covenant Church across the road. One day they are seen pounding a sign into the ground, which said:

DA END ISS NEAR!
TURN YERSELF AROUNT NOW
BAFOR IT ISS TOO LATE!

As a car speeds past them, the driver leans out his window and yells, "Leave people alone, you Skandihoovian religious nuts!"

From the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash.

Shakin' his head, Rev. Ole says "Dat's da terd one dis mornin'."

"Yaa," Pastor Sven agrees, then asks, "Do ya tink maybe da sign should yust say, 'Bridge Out?'"

JERSEY JOE TO PERFORM ON JULY 9TH

The Summer Season is heating up, but at Rick's Place there will be another attempt to have a Cool Time. July 9 will see another "Cocktail Party" on a Saturday Night.

Entertainment will again feature "Jersey Joe," the man with the velvet voice. He also has and great manager. The theme will be Hawaiian. Joe and Kay will do their best to put us in the "Escape Mode" with fine music and dancing. This looks to be a good event.

CAPT BRIEN'S CLUB

We did a show at Capt. Brien's on the 23rd over in Marco. Another good night out.

Friends from the "Guy's Lunch Group" also attended, We had great seats to view the show which featured two comedians. The headliner made sure to let everyone know that "
Verona Walk" was present.

The food was great too. Maybe we will visit them again in a few months.

MANDATORY REVIEW OF PICTURES FROM SOUTH WEST.

The viewers should be happy. There were over 500 pictures taken on this trip that lasted two weeks. They only are required to look at just these few.

We started in Albuquerque, NM and ended in Las Vegas, NV.

Although there were numerous pictures collected only a few of the best are shown here. The first is a Church in a Pueblo called Sky City. It was a climb to see this Indian City and well worth it.

In the days that followed we saw Mountain Sheep from a Jet Boat on the Colorado River, then stood at the base of London Bridge. The trip also took us to Aztec Ruins in Northern New Mexico, and later to a Meteor Crater in Arizona.

We had to again visit Oatman, Arizona and had some of our friends take pictures with us. All in all it was a good two weeks.

NEWS FROM NEW JERSEY

FROM NJ: We received a report that the number one Son-in-law is competing on:

www.soyouthinkyoucanhost.com

This is a web site that deals with radio and tv shows, potential shows and new cast members. The neat thing is "you all" get to vote.

Take a peek at the page. You might enjoy it. Then, of course, vote for Mr. Selden.

THE EDITOR AND PUBLISHER ARE BACK

I have already placed my notes on the desk, left the key where it belongs, and have left the keyboard for my own relaxation. The Editor and Publisher have returned from their two week trip out West. Hope they enjoyed themselves and will share a couple (just a couple) of pictures.

TREASURE ISLAND

The phone rang a few minutes ago. It was the Old Guy & his Queen."

The (He) called checking on me. He tried to pretend he just wanted to say "Hi" and fill me in on the trip. I know he wanted to know what was happening in "The Walk." I reminded him that it is Summer. Nobody is here. Everything is quite.

Out West the word is they are staying at Treasure Island and may join some local Pirates. Hope the camera is still working.

BIRTHDAY GIRL

This just came in from New Mexico from the Boss. It is a birthday note he wants on the board. He wrote as follows:

"It doesn't take the Queen's reminders for me to remember this birthday, and she doesn't have to play that song by
Randy and the Rainbows over and over. I know it is Denise's birthday today.

She was named after the song, as were her sisters. She is doing quite well and we are proud of her. A Mom, a Daughter, and a Nurse all in one birthday girl. She celebrates number 25 today.

Happy Birthday Denise

ARRIVED !!!

The Guys' called in today to say their flight to Albuquerque was smooth and reasonably on time.

Their plan is to take a lot of pictures and show them to the friends and neighbors when they get back.

This "Temporary Editor" was contacted by The Queen who said she is keeping the Boss under control. She did say that He had to go to Police HQ Tuesday. Wonder what that is all about. We will see.

COCTAIL PARTY

RICKS' PLACE hosted a Cocktail Party on Saturday (June 4) Evening for Community Residents & Friends. Nice people were in attendance so it was a good time.

Music was provided by the Publishers' favorite Entertainer: Jersey Joe. The picture is of Joe in his younger days. The Man brought a smile to many faces with his renditions of some old (maybe ancient) tunes from yesteryear.

Yeah, this was a good way to spend a Saturday Night.

SNOW BIRDS OR SUN BIRDS

The way my good neighbors are always going some where I wonder if they are really "Snow Birds." They just got home and now it is "Gone Again." This time they will venture out to New Mexico.

This time they will be visiting the American Indians in the South West. I guess that means they are "SUN BIRDS." It doesn't really matter as I am now in charge of the their
nice little blog. I'll do my best in their absence.

BEAUTIFUL SWEATER

The Old Guy picked this Lady up at the Airport on Sunday. The plane got in early which was great. It is good to be home.

Jet Blue provided a smooth ride from the
beautiful Newark N.J. area. Fortunately I got to stay in the suburbs.

I stayed with
number 13. That is not the girl who stars in the TV Show: "HOUSE." My 13 is the baby that daughter Cathy had a few weeks. Joanna is a real keeper and certainly beautiful.

A good friend made the sweater which shows the baby's name:
JOANNA. We are sure she will be modeling it for a long time. She is a very thankful little Baby.

JUNE DATES TO NOTE

The Queen knows certain dates by heart. She does not need a reminder, but someone in the house says all the time: "Make a note for me". Well as usual here is a reminder for him - think of number one !!!.......Hmmm I know. It will be noted a few days down the road.
