BADGE SHOW AND DISNEY

The "Trusty Neighbor" has control again of the old keyboard and will again try to keep everyone up to date on what is going on in the Community.

So far no shots have been heard and that is good. A revolution was brewing, but most of the shots have been kept to verbal and written volleys. Erika made some noise and our Bosses left Town.

Our owners naturally had something to do and our Gone Again ! Anyone recall that song.

"They" will be attending a Law Enforcement Show in Orlando, then visiting the Mouse.

ERIKA GONE, LAKES LOOK GOOD

Erika has dried up. Well, that is not the correct word, but the "storm" is over. We survived it without any problems.

We got some heavy rain, and may get some more tonight but nothing like what was feared. Now we have to keep an eye open for a Tornado, but we will do OK.

As Erika goes another storm follows. His name is FRED. It Might be a good idea to watch him, and enjoy looking at our lakes that are filled.

ERIKA IS HEADING OUR WAY

Collier County is on "official hurricane watch" for ERIKA.

The storm is expected to hit SE Florida, or deeper out in Atlantic Ocean.  SW Florida (Naples) may get outer band activity.

WHAT IS ALL THAT NOISE

The other night our camera guy was out to get mail and what did he see?

Well, the lights were on, and the sound of work was in the air. On closer examination it proved to be PAC workers putting some finishing touches on the walls.

It was a good thing that the camera was in the car and a couple pictures could be clicked. Check them out below. There here for you. Also you should look for the announcement for a Grand Opening.

And by the way the mail contained the usual Bills and Garbage.

ANNIVERSERY BACK IN NJ

Our daughter in New Jersey is celebrating today. We are making an "official" report of this event in our blog. That's Dennis pictured with his little girl.

It is now 21 years that Cheryl and her husband have been married.

DRAGNET - "JUST THE FACTS PLEASE!!!"

Ten minutes was given to a Board Member who, at the last Board Meeting, was removed from his duties as Treasurer.

Since that removal, seen by many of our neighbors as a personality conflict between the Member and our Town Manager, residents supporting the Member have been attacked in emails, and also have had their homes "egged, " as well as a threatening note taped to a garage door.

On another front our Town Manager wrote a letter to all residents, without authorization, giving her view of the Personality Conflict that has consumed our neighbors. That position served as a basis for a good deal of hate to be aimed at our duly elected Board Member.

Today ( 8/12) we heard an admission by our Board Member that: "Yes I have a temper." He went on to explain the specific issues where He and the Town Manager have clashed. He appeared to gain a  good deal of support from residents who attended the meeting. He stated he was in favor of business type credit cards, a system of purchase orders, a description of job duties, hourly/weekly time records etc.

He culminated his "ten minutes" by stating he was in possession of a letter wherein  the Town Manager acknowledges that she was the driving force behind a recall petition against the Board member. If true this is politics at its' worst. This will be the subject, in part, at the September Board Meeting.

TWENTY ONE TODAY

A nice day to remember for us. Our Grand Daughter is now twenty-one years of age.

That is a big number for her. We are sure she will not over celebrate the event, but continue her good ways of work and school.

GOOD LUNCH AT CAFE BY THE LAKE

Last Wednesday, we bottomed out with our lowest number in attendance for the year. There were 21 men present, and that was an increase over last years so we are quite happy.

The food was ready on time. It came out hot, and was delicious.

The program went according to plan, and culminated with a drawing for a gift certificate.

Next month the group will go to the Marco Yacht Club.

FREE SPEECH BUT NO REVOLUTION

Petitions available throughout the community !!!

We checked at the rumor mill and learned that there just might be three petitions being circulated here in the Community. The first wants to start the Recall Process against one of our Board Members. The other does the same thing, but against a different Board Member.

There is also a possibility that there is a third petition aimed at one of the the same Board Members.

This does not sound very positive. Anger at issues is understandable to a degree; but this reaction doesn't seem like one to pull residents together. 

From this perch it seems a good idea that our five Board Members go into a closed door Executive Session and stay there until together they resolve the hostile feelings that they have created.

AUGUST DATES TO REMEMBER

I checked "my" date book and no major birthdays this month. 

I'll check further. Right now I don't dare disturb "his" nap to look it up. 

He only checks so far, but there is an anniversary in New Jersey for him to recall. Also keep an eye peeled to see if he remembers his granddaughter's 21st birthday.
