HAVE A LAUGH

A good friend sent this in for your enjoyment. It is old. I must admit I have heard 100 times in my lifetime.

Here it is:
...Four retired men are walking down a street in Yuma, Arizona. They turn a corner and see a sign that says,"Old Timers Bar - ALL drinks 10 cents." They look at each other and then go in, thinking this is too good to be true.

The old bartender says in a voice that carries across the room, "Come on in and let me pour one for you! What'll it be, gentlemen?"

There's a fully stocked bar, so each of the men orders a martini.  In no time the bartender serves up four iced martinis shaken, not stirred and says, "That's 10 cents each, please."

The four guys stare at the bartender for a moment, then at each other. They can't believe their good luck. They pay the 40 cents, finish their martinis, and order another round. Again, four excellent martinis are produced, with the bartender again saying,"That's 40 cents, please."

They pay the 40 cents, but their curiosity gets the better of them. They've each had two martinis and haven't even spent a dollar yet.

Finally one of them says, "How can you afford to serve martinis as good as these for a dime apiece?"

"I'm a retired tailor from Phoenix ," the bartender says, "and I always wanted to own a bar. Last year I hit the Lottery Jackpot for $125 million and decided to open this place. Every drink costs a dime. Wine, liquor, beer it's all the same."

"Wow! That's some story!" one of the men says.

As the four of them sip their martinis, they can't help noticing seven other people at the end of the bar who don't have any drinks in front of them and haven't ordered anything the whole time they've been there.

Nodding at the seven at the end of the bar, one of the men asks the Bartender, "What's with them?"

The bartender says, "They're retired people from Florida . They're waiting for Happy Hour when drinks are half-price, plus they all have coupons...

STORY THAT HITS HOME

Many of you know our daughter donated her kidney recently. This was a gift of life, but on top of that there were a ton of tears and all sorts of emotions.

We met the recipient and her parents. There was no way to measure their joy, while at the same time the emotions were tugging at our heart too.

GONE AGAIN

Wow !  No sooner then they arrive, then it is turn around time.

They have both departed, and we are alone again.

Can't wait until next year. Fly me home for a visit up there.

PULTE STOCK

This is the time for checking on our wonderful investment years ago into PULTE Stock. You all should know why I like to watch this company.

On the original investment with unreal money I bought 100 shares. The price was $6.42

Today the investment has the price at $21.18.

Not bad. Wishing it was real money too.

BIG BIRTHDAY

It's a big birthday today. I would be toast if I forgot. It's the wife's - Lois.

She was born this day in 1946,  so I guess that makes he 16. Well my poor math is part of my birthday message here.

The only problem I see on this special day is - She thinks I am buying that red convertible just for her. No way.

GENTS HAVE A GOOD TIME AT WILLIAMS'

Summer is here and a large portion of our lunch group has gone up North. Our attendance was down - 25. That didn't stop the gang from having a great time.

The main item selected by the group was shave prime rib melt. It made for an excellent sandwich.

At the end of the meeting we had a drawing and the winner received a gift card to William's

HOW MANY YEARS ?

Oh yes. This is a big date to note.

It is Dennis' and Lois' anniversary. They were married on this day in 1967. You can do the math. It is a long time. Note they still drive their first car.

BOARD AND CONTRACT COMMITTEE MEET

The Contract Committee will meet today at 2:00 PM with the Board of Directors. The job to be done is to submit a contract for the BOD to give to SouthWest Property Management as our (VW) official counter proposal to the document submitted to our HOA. This should be an interesting meeting.
