PULTE STOCK

June 30 is the halfway mark for the year 2016. Lets see if we got any richer. Remember a century ago we purchased, for fun, 100 shares of "Pulte Stock". It was cheap. Only $643.

If you factor in that I did not report any of the "transaction stuff,"  or pay commissions etc it got to be real cheap. In addition I paid with "funny money". So the question , as always where are we with that investment now. Well today it is worth  $185.60

Next I will go figure my fee.

HAVE A LAUGH

Here is a funny from one of our "ex" neighbor. She mailed it from 1000 miles away, but still keeping you and our community on her mind. Enjoy the joke below.

An old Navy Chief walks into the ship's barbershop aboard the USS Neversail
for a shave and a haircut. He tells the barber he can't get all his whiskers
off because his cheeks are wrinkled from salt air exposure and age.

The barber gets a little ivory ball from a cup on the shelf and tells the
old Chief to put it inside his cheek to spread out the skin.

When he's finished, the old Chief tells the barber that was the cleanest
shave he'd had in years, but he wanted to know what would have happened if
he had accidentally swallowed the little ball.

The barber replied, "Just bring it back in a couple of days like everyone
else does."

LUNCH BELL RINGS AGAIN FOR OUR COMMUNITY

The ROMEO Group is ringing the lunch bell in VeronaWalk. For the next couple of months they will be doing "lunches" at Café Verona on Tuesdays, at Noon. Previously Romeo's did breakfast every Tuesday at 8:00 AM.

This change to lunch will be a help to Café Verona as they do not have a regular breakfast schedule except for Romeos. Backing off will save them hours and money.

Best wishes to Romeo and Café Verona

A REFUND IS HEADING OUR WAY

At yesterdays board meeting, by a vote of 3-2, a decision was made to give 1920 home owners a cash refund or credit towards dues, from money returned to us by Comcast. This is part of the recently signed new agreement with the TV, Internet, and Phone carrier.

It was also agreed, to have our attorney present at next Board Meeting to review the "approval" process by our previous Board. This is to see if authority was granted to enter into this agreement. I wonder, "If not, what?" I don't see a firing squad and, solely my opinion, "Good Faith goes a long way - just move on."

Enjoy the scenery

TWO GRADUATIONS

We are blessed. Our two grandson's have graduated only days apart. They gave us an opportunity to miss "Rummy Kube", get out of the House, Drive somewhere, Eat, and, of course, be beaming because we are both happy and proud!!!.

Zachary was first. He is leaving Marco Island Academy. If all goes as hoped He will be in the Coast Guard. Hopefully he will put his swimming skill to good use.

A couple days later Cameron made the official move on to High School. He graduated the Charter Middle School after spending three years there.

Now we can graduate and put our feet up and maybe think about a cigar and a couple shots something good.

Congratulations Guys

SAM SNEAD'S JUNE 1st

The VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group held their monthly lunch at Sam Sneed's on June 1

This was a post seasonal crowd with twenty five members present. Nonetheless they had a great time. The featured item on the menu was "salmon" and it was the number one choice.

As always we continue to support other groups that meet for lunch including our friends at ROMEO's. The meet at the Café Verona.

PAC SACKED

Probably one of the reasons we were slow on getting our "Dates to Remember" posted is we were still in shock over the sacking of PAC.

Members of the PAC Boards, except one, received an email stating that the BOD was going in a different direction with PAC and that a new Chairman of the PAC Board had been appointed. To our knowledge there was no communication with the original and only Chairman that PAC hade ever had. The absence of such communication is alarming. It just is not a nice way to do business. After all we are supposed to be neighbors and friends.

Also to our knowledge there was only closed door discussion with PAC Board members and Community Members that led to the appointment of the new Chairman. This could have been handled in a nicer way, again remembering that we are supposed to be friends within this community. You all remember that saying "with friends like these, I don't need enemies."

The change of guard at PAC was a hostile takeover to say the least.

Change is something that always happens in our life experience. Good changes leave smiles and encouragement from all corners of our Community.

Our BOD is encouraged to pick up whatever pieces remain from the recent de facto change in PAC.  Some of our best friends, and neighbors were stepped on with the recent transition. That should not be.

JUNES IMPORTANT DATES

We usually do this on the first. She usually gives me the dates to recall here. I forgot. She forgot. Now here we are a couple of days into June and it is I who remembered: One birthday this month.
