PULTE STOCK

Already we are into the end of the first quarter of 2011. Where is our investment money going this year.

Well with our (3/28)
end point Pulte Stock closed at: $7.66

On our initial investment was $ 7.46 to start the year, so we paid $746 for 100 shares.

This is easy to figure out. We gained
$.20 per share on our 100 shares so far this quarter. We are in the green, and green is good. Maybe I'll buy more.

DORA COMES TO VERONA WALK

The "Walk" had a famous visitor on Sunday (Mar 27). The kids knew who it was, that is the little kids. It was DORA.

A breakfast with Dora was the main event of the day at Rick's Place. The Lady of the house gathered her baby, and she gathered her Little Princess for a morning of fun.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

HAVE A LAUGH

The good neighbor in charge of jokes submitted this piece of humor a couple of weeks ago. Hope you like it.

A young ventriloquist is touring the clubs and one night he's doing a

show in a small town in New Jersey .

With his dummy on his knee, he starts going through his usual dumb
blond jokes.

Suddenly, a blond woman in the 4Th row stands on her chair and starts
shouting, "I’ve heard enough of your stupid blond jokes! What
makes you think you can stereotype women that way? What does the color of a
person's hair have to do with her worth as a human being? It's guys
like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in the
community, and from reaching our full potential as a person, because you
and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only
blonds, but women in general and all in the name of humor!"

The embarrassed ventriloquist begins to apologize, and the blond yells,
"You stay out of this, mister! I'm talking to that little jerk on your knee!"

BIRTHDAY GIRL

Hope everything in N.Y.C. is well today. It should be a day of fun and cheer as one of our
babies is now 25.

She is our
Wild Thing. Just living in Manhattan is kinda wild, especially for the dad - Mr. V.W. Resident. While he is content not to move, Cindy is always jumping out of an airplane, or having fun in some real jungle.

She was a math major and knows all these complicated
formulas. We wonder if this new math is how she stays at 25 years of age. Whatever the trick we hope she enjoys her special day.

BABY SITTING ASSIGNMENT

Oh Yes, another job for the old folk. Take care of the little princess.

It must be said she is good, but she also moves rather quick. This guy felt like he was on the track team again. She was pretty easy to catch. We played ball with her and showed her how to stick out her tongue (OK- She already knew that).

It was a good time, but there was a good deal of happiness when Mom got home. Oh Yeah ! Smiles and Happiness.

FRIDAY BOWLING

Yesterday, March 18, the gang from "The walk" continued their meeting at the bowling alley for food and fun.

It looks like the number eating is getting smaller, and the number taking bowling is getting more serious.

In between all those
strikes and spares the major activity was doing the yak yak. That lead to smiles and good times too. This Queen of the lanes will be there next week and will have the "Old Guy" out again too.

GARDEN STATE GETTING DRENCHED

The guys from NJ are calling down here to say it's cool, and now they have their eyes on the rivers. Some areas in northern Jersey have been covered in the news as there have been local floods.

The kids closest to the rivers are telling us that they are still dry. The can see high water "down the street" where the Passaic River has been known to flood.

We got are fingers crossed that they continue to stay dry.

MARCH POOLSIDE PARTY WITH NEIGHBORS

MARCH in NJ is usually Cold. In Florida it is supposed to be warm !

Well here in Naples there was an attempt to equal that Jersey weather. The attempt didn't come close, and even with the wind chill factor, it was a good night in Naples.

This writer must admit he did not see very many (if any) bikini's. Most residents were dressed with long pants and shirts, sweaters, or jackets. That was only initially, but as the night progressed it warmed up around the pool.

The warmth was caused by jerky chicken, sliced pork and a variety of liquid delights that made the bones (except mine) feel the warmth that was in the air.

It was a good night, and even better, when I pulled the blanket over my head by 9:30. That was unbelievable. Glad everyone else enjoyed the festive evening which included fine music and those good drinks.

HOME OWNERS MEETING

The annual Homeowners meeting took place at Town Center on March 8Th, and started promptly at 6:00 PM.

The room was filled. It looked like 500 people attended by unofficial count.

The best (just an opinion) was the report that this community is a very good financial health, and when the builder leaves it appears that a nice amount of money will be there to keep us financially sound.

One subject that was a major interest was a survey to determine if residents would be interested in adding ten dollars to the monthly dues to assist the community restaurant. The vote was roughly 500 to 290 not to become involved in the proposition.

A member, who is a real estate agent, raised a question regarding having "brokers caravans" through the community to "help" reduce inventory of resale (short sales & other) property. The consensus was an overwhelming "NO."

Some other issues were addressed, but this "Old Guy" left to walk the Dog he doesn't own, or some other excuse, to go home and watch TV until next year. On the way home
he did remember to pick up after the pooch. Good Boy.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Town Center was the location for a community benefit for the local C.E.R.T. Team. These are the volunteers who have donated their time to equip themselves to help their neighbors in the event of an emergency. Entertainment was also donated to the cause, and it was a wonderful moment when "
God Bless America" was sung.

The benefit on Saturday (March 5) was to raise funds to purchase equipment for the team. The needs and goals of the organization were nicely presented in candid pictures as well as graphs and charts.

Rick's Place catered the breakfast for the residents who attended this event. In addition to pancakes and sausages there was plenty of good morning coffee to get everyone bright eyed and bushy tailed.

The "Old Guy" enjoyed himself as did this writer, his Queen.

ASSISTED LIVING

ASSISTED LIVING was the name of the show at Town Center this past Saturday. It was also the theme of the decor in the room for us old timers to enjoy. Canes and other medical equipment was nicely placed around the room. Thank God there were only a few.

The
props were donated by residents who acquired them over the last couple of years. I guess they were happy to see them being used as decorations. My husband was afraid to loan his cane or potty seat, but he did bring his weary old bones.

Everyone brought pot luck to the table. The food certainly was better then hospital food. This Lady made meatballs per the
instructions of the "Old Guy." He is lucky I didn't feed them to him in a way he wouldn't like. He enjoyed them as did a few of friends.

The Show was a hoot. We laughed and chuckled quite a bit. It's good to be old....and
Alive!

REMINDER - H.O.A. MEETING MARCH 8, 2011

Residents probably have their calendars marked for this date: March 8, 2011

The H.O.A. will hold its annual meting on the 8
Th. It will be in Town Center at 6:00 PM.

In addition to the usual stuff there is the
added interest item at this meeting. It relates to the a survey regarding financial assistance from the members to the restaurant.

This subject should have
everyone's interest.

MARCH DATES TO REMEMBER

The "Old Guy" is asleep so the "Lady" will hit the keys and advise that there is a major date to remember. Let's see if Mr. Editor can remember all by himself. Here is a hint: It only took a couple of seconds for her to smile and blow bubbles at him
