PULTE STOCK

OK !

This year the builders stock is looking good. Another month in the GREEN. The increase in new home building has had a definite correlation to the value of PULTE Stock.

Our investment has grown from  $6.42  to  $15.55  WOW !!!

It takes a couple of hours at the "table," but in the end This writer is "down" another quarter.

The Bird seems proud of himself and allowed these pictures.

"COMMUNITY" CELEBRATED AT SHULA'S LUNCHEON

The initial thought was that the Prime Rib attracted everyone to attend this Luncheon at Shula's on September 20, 2012. Not so. It was something far more meaningful.

The lunch was the third annual event with the "VeronaWalk Gentlemen, and their Ladies."  We had a very good turnout which required Shula's to set up a couple of extra tables.    

On the agenda, time was set allotted  to honor a few individuals who have donated more than just time to the community. Their names were cited, and they received the applause they certainly deserved.   

At the conclusion of the event, and all at once, everyone recognized that what was really being celebrated, was the sense of "Family" we have created.

NOT POLITICAL

We make no political comments here  as a rule. BUT with all the snipping going on about our government telling some foreign countries  that we are sorry about something, a thought  just materialized on the computer screen below.

THIS DOG FOUND - DO YOU KNOW THE OWNER?

We have received a report from Town Center that: This male Shitzu was found by a resident of VeronaWalk and brought to the HOA Office. 

The dog has no identification or collar.

If you know who this might belong to, please, call the HOA Office. The number is 774 0026

In the event the Dog's Owner is not found by Friday Afternoon it will have to take him to Domestic Animal Services and wait for him to be identified.  Please help if you can. Thank you!

Is this Verona Walk?

With all the rain, and the lakes being full this certainly looks like a spot at the end of my street. Near the preserve would be appropriate.

The actual picture was taken several miles away in the "glades."  A friend has and is thinking of hanging it on the wall. It looks good. Maybe He will share a few more with us especially since we are all locked in our homes due to that Florida Rain.

POOCH OF THE MONTH

The picture below is this month's "Pooch of the Month."

Each month we have been posting a picture of the dogs that participated in the "Pooch of the Month" event here at Town center.  The dogs did quite well in this activity, and a picture each month helps us enjoy it all over again.

FISHING AT DISNEY

 

We are back. The "Old Guy" had a great time with all his Cop buddies at the Police show last week. I brought a book, and watched his display while HE mingled.

He strutted like he was the Chief, but the tables turned on him when he needed money. Thanks to me HE was able to get a few nice pieces (Badges and Hats) for his collection. I know my job will be to dust and polish.

My reward was a couple of nights at Riverside in Disney World. I like this place especially after walking all day in the parks. We did Animal Kingdom and it rained. We had those rain ponchos which helped quite a bit, and we tried to watch indoor shows.

Outside of seeing "Lion King," the only practical thing to do was shop, or go fishing.

PATRIOTS DAY

This picture has a location in our home to remind us every day of the terrible attack that took place on September 11, 2001. 

We see it every day. We vividly recall what we were doing that morning, and the impact this attack had on us, and our Country. 

Our daughter took this picture after being on the last train into NYC, around 8:45 AM; and then being sent back home to N.J. on the last train allowed to leave Manhattan that Day.


We know how lucky We were that Day.

Eleven years later we are still lucky, and we are proud to be an American. We offer No Apologies for that to anyone, and thank God for looking after us on that tragic September day that still plays like a movie reel in our minds.

SHULA'S EVENT SCHEDULED FOR THE 20TH

 

The VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group is hosting their third annual luncheon with their ladies at Shula's America's Steak House in the  Naples' Hilton.

The featured item is Shula's Prime Rib. A twelve ounce cut is attracting lots of interest, but there are also three other choices on the menu. 

This is an event that may sell out, so sign up early.

THE BOSS IS BACK IN ORLANDO

Hard to believe that "They"  live here, but VeronaWalk really is  their home.

This time they are going to be at the Rosen Plaza Convention Center for the "Vacation Capital Police Collectors Show". The exhibit is today (Sep. 8), and  the show promises to draw a large crowd.

The "Old Guy" took all his toys, and will be putting up a nice display. It includes some real old time badges from Newark, NJ. The way he walks I hope he brings this walking stick pictured above. He just might have to press it into duty.

As the guardian of the Blog'sKeyboard I will do my job here, and hope they have a fine showing with all those police guys in Orlando. At least they should be Safe.

CAFE VERONA AND GENTLEMEN'S GROUP PERFECT TOGETHER

The Cafe Verona was the location of the "First Wednesday of the Month" luncheon sponsored by the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group. It was held on Sept. 5, 2012, and this time the "Guy's" didn't have to travel out of the community.       

A large crowd registered to attend this event and support our community's restaurant. They were rewarded with a planned Agenda that focused on: "Food, Fun, and Friendship."

This was the second visit this year to Cafe Verona. It is right in the center of our community with a great view of our Lake. The ambiance is just great. That's why we live here.

We enjoyed a fine lunch, and we also enjoyed knowing that Cafe Verona appreciated having another large group in attendance.

Perhaps there will be a return visit in a few months.

THE SECOND TEAM IS NOW RUNNING THIS BLOG

I wish I had money. Then I could go travel like the owners of this blog do all the time.

They leave and I get the keys to the house with all the duties that come too. I take the job seriously, that is why they have a pool that sparkles.

I am also in charge  (Of course you know this) of monitoring their blog. I Look for an email or comment or write a post. Over the years, and because I behave at the keyboard,  I have also been authorized to post a picture or two from the archive. Give me a day or so and I'll dig something up for you to enjoy.

Oh yeah, it wasn't all Disney this time. I am told they took, the Safety Guy, and they are (at least He is) checking out some Police Show in Orlando.  I trust they will have fun.

BIRTHDAY IN JERSEY

Today is Daughter number two's birthday.

It seems like it was only yesterday that she was born. That was in Phillipsburg, N.J. 

We lived in a rural area at the time, and with her birth the population of our town increased by 25%. Maybe it was a little less than that.

Today is her big 25th birthday. Being a female, and using my math, she never gets older.

This event will be located at Cafe Verona and will commence at 12:00 Noon. As always there will be a planned agenda designed to provide "Food, Fun and Friendship."
