HAVE A LAUGH

My neighbor, and good friend, sent this one to us. It seems the older we get the more we snicker at some of this humor.

We Hope it brings a smile to your faces.

A tough looking group of bikers were riding when they saw a girl about to jump off a bridge so they stop.

The leader, a big burly hunk, gets off his bike and says, "What are you doing?"

"I'm going to commit a suicide," she says.

While he did not want to appear insensitive, he didn't want to miss an opportunity he asked "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a Kiss?"

So, she does and it was a long, deep lingering kiss.

After she's finished, the biker says, "Wow! That was the best Kiss I have ever had. That's a real talent you are wasting. You could be famous. Why are you committing suicide?"

"My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl......

CERT CLASS

Last Saturday (May 23) this Lady's husband attended a class for our local C.E.R.T. Team. It was at Hodges University.

The Session covered two classes on Incident Command. Completion of the class certifies those who attended to take charge in an emergency.

VeronaWalk is prepared, and our thanks goes out to these members who have donated their time to be ready to help to us in an emergency.

Congratulation to Everyone.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE GOVERNMENT LOSS ON GM

One of our neighbors sent this over. It seems he has an interest in GM STOCK. We are happy to share it, although our funds are in Pulte Stock.

Wish I did, however, have some GM stock (No I don't) - All I can think of is the next oil change, and paying for it. Anyway here is the report for your review:

FROM REUTERS:

"Sources have previously told Reuters that a follow-on share sale could be worth about $10 billion -- but since GM shares have dropped below their $33 IPO price, some have suggested that the sale could be smaller.

GM's shares are now at their lowest since their IPO. They closed at $29.97, or 9.2 percent below the IPO price on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday.

If the stock doesn't recover, a share sale now would add to the government's losses on the $50 billion it poured into GM during the financial crisis to help the one-time blue-chip avoid liquidation.

The government lost money on the IPO but had hoped to recover the money in follow-on offerings.

The government is willing to take a loss on its investment in GM because the Obama administration wants to end its involvement with the automaker ahead of the 2012 U.S. elections, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The government would need to sell its remaining 500 million or so shares at $53 apiece to break even, the paper reported.

GM is expected to report a profit in the first quarter, the paper said, citing unnamed sources.

June would be the earliest a share sale could take place. It could also happen in the first half of August or after Labor Day, one source told Reuters.

An additional share sale could happen in November or December, that source said."

IT'S EASTER

Today was Easter. We trust everyone had a good time doing their thing. We spent it with our daughter and her little ones'.

There was mostly blue sky and warm temperatures during the day. The Coffee was hot and the food was more than the "Old Guy" could handle.

The Kids were well behaved, even if the wouldn't hold still for a picture. At least there wasn't one bit of fighting. One little girl needs to learn to 'put her shoes on' when she goes outside. Hope you guys enjoy that pictures, as well as the others.

SMOKE ALONG THE TRACKS

There was "SMOKE ALONG THE TRACKS" Thursday Night (4/21) when a group of very special Investigators from "The Walk" responded to a Homicide Call on the Seminole Train in Ft. Myers.

With over a hundred years of investigative
experience the gang pulled out their old police badges, and as a team investigated the crime scene.

In addition to the badges these
Cops had handcuffs ready to take their suspect into custody. They approached this case like true professionals. Evert little clue was bagged and tagged properly. Notes were taken and stored for future use. The Lady in Red definitely was questioned.

In between analysing the various clue the
Detectives enjoyed many laughs, and a multiple course meal. They also enjoyed a great view as the train took them on a nice trip across the Caloosohatchee River, and "No" the body was not dumped into the waters.

As the train pulled back to the station our Investigators reviewed the clues, and even tried a few bribes here and there, to find the culprit. Judging from our smiles we must have been successful, and nobody fell asleep, or snored loudly.

IS OUR NATIONAL DEBT A REAL ISSUE ?

The publisher usually does not want any political remarks appearing in this blog, but this message was something of interest so we are sharing the report.

If true the statement that it would take 389 years to pay off our National Debt at $100 million dollars a day opened the eyes of one of our good neighbors. Take a look at the link he sent:

DISNEY VISIT GREAT - AS USUAL

The trip to Disney ended too soon.

The Publisher, and Editor returned late Friday and were very happy that our neighbor handled the blog without any complaints.

While He was managing the keyboard we hit every park in Disney World at least once. That was a lot of fun, as usual, but the visit was enhanced by the fact that there was an
International Flower Show in Epcot.

Of course we got some pictures of the flowers, and a few of the animals we checked out on safari in Animal Kingdom. They are posted here for your enjoyment.

BE SAFE !

Our Safety Guy checked out a great exhibit in Disney and clicked a couple of pictures for everyone.

If you get an opportunity to visit EPCOT look for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company's fire engine and display for
first responders. Also Check Out the advice regarding a fire on your clothing. This is good to note.

One can learn a few things and have some fun at the same time. Maybe the
Engine 1 might ride our way someday. That would be neat.

STREET REPRESENTATIVES MEET TO DISCUSS RESTAURANT

On the 14Th our H.O.A. convened a meeting of all Street Representatives regarding the status of the local restaurant.

The "Mission" of the Committee is to focus on positive steps that could be implemented in order to bring changes that would satisfy community concerns and to provide a means of assistance to the Restaurant.

A committee of seven was created to carry the load and meet with the restaurant mangers. This group is comprised of residents who have experience in Restaurant Management as well as Business Management. This a good group and they are quite capable of tackling a serious issue and providing real leadership at a needed time.

We are quite proud of the fact that a neighbor is on this committee and wish that person good luck and the same to all committee members. We want a positive outcome.

GOLDEN BOYS

Paradise has some flashbacks every now and then.

Sunday Night (April 10) was one of those moments. The Naples "Phil" Philharmonic presented a show called the Golden Boys. It was a yesteryear collection of some 50's and 60's pop stars.

The headliner was Frankie Avalon. God he was old. He now looks 25. He still had a nice voice and did a very good show. Joining him on stage were Bobby Rydell, and Fabian.

Unfortunately the show was over when the "Fat Lady" sang her song. The guys' had pictures taken with "The Fat Lady" prior to the show and made sure they got here for everyone.

God, Turn me Loose. I remember that song like it was yesterday. I guess our editor and publisher had a good time, even with the "Fat Lady". Next time they can take me too, instead of just telling me to watch their keyboard while they are in Orlando.

Click below for Turn Me Loose.

NEIGHBOR IN CHARGE

We all need a little help now and then. We are so lucky when we go away that there is a good neighbor to ride in on his old wooden pony and watch our barn, while we chase the neon rainbows at Disney.

BON VOYAGE

Once again it is that time of the year. Just listen and you can almost hear: "Untie the Bow Line, Up Anchor, and Full Speed Ahead."

Well here in The walk it is a little different. It sounds like: Call Home Watch, Pack your Bags, and get the Long Distance Car Hauler."

Either way someone is going on a trip. Friends will be hear Good Bye's. So we did it with a very well attended party at out Town Center on Saturday (4/9) Night.

Some of us dressed like sailors, others did not. All, however, had a great time drinking from Captains' bottle. Nobody was asked to "Walk the Plank."

The
Lords of Cool entertained, and did a fine job taking us back in time with their music. Someone should have requested the old "Sea Cruise" tune it would have fit in very nice. Even without it the night was fun and a time to remember.

If you must hear the song click below:

COMMUNITY GETS CPR TRAINING

On March 31, 2011 residents of the community took advantage of training that was offered by the local CERT TEAM. Residents attended a very important class at Town Center where they learned how to help someone in an emergency.

Those who attended learned how to do CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. The young man, pictured above, assisted in the hands on training exercise.

In addition to CPR residents also received instruction In the use of the AED's that are located in Town Center. Specifically they are Automated External Defibrillator's, and are used to jump start an individuals' heart.

NAPLES ZOO - FREE ADMISSION SATURDAY

It has been a while since we got to visit the local Zoo.

I like the animals, and the "Old Guy" was super excited about "Free Admission." He got us there just before 10:00 AM

We timed our trip very well as we saw a show, visited with the "Zoo Staff" with two presentations, and got the boat ride too. Did it all in three and a half hours. Not bad.

I wonder if "He" will want to return with one of the little ones. Well it is a thought.

JERSEY BIRTHDAY

My
Queen probably didn't think I would remember that there is a birthday today. I usually get reminders so I can write a couple words for someone. She is slipping as I remembered this one.

It is daughter number three celebrating her birthday today. This is birthday number 25.

While Cathy deserves a nice Lexus from her husband she is waiting to give him a present. It will child number three, arriving very soon. That will also be grandchild number 13. Wow!

Let the day be a good one. Happy, Happy Birthday. Enjoy your day.

APRIL DATES TO REMEMBER

I am sure the "Old Guy" won't need a reminder on this date. His little girl calls almost every day, so she should be up front on his mind, even if her calls start of with these beautiful words: "Is Mom There?" This Lady will just watch and see if he makes a fuss about this birthday -#25.
