A short month February is, and the stock has shown a "short" difference On my chart. It closed at last look at $20.76

Nice improvement overall on $6.43 initial investment. And they say houses are now in demand. Hope that is good for residents.

HAVE A LAUGH

The neighbors , despite old age creeping up, continue to laugh, and below is their newest contribution.

A Russian arrives in New York City as a new immigrant to the United States. He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says,

"Thank you Mr. American for letting me come into this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and a free education!"

The passerby says, "You are mistaken, I am a Mexican."

The confused Russian goes on, and encounters another passerby. "Thank you  for having such a beautiful country. You must be proud to be an American."  

The person says, "I not American, I am Vietnamese."

The new arrival walks farther, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand, and says, "Thank you for wonderful Country, Mr American"

That person puts up his hand and says, "I am from Middle East. I am not American." 

Puzzled, he asks him, "Well then, Where are all the Americans?"

 The Guy checks his watch and says......................

"Probably at work."

SAM SNEAD'S IS NEXT LOCATION FOR VERONAWALK GENTLEMEN'S LUNCHEON

Gentlemen it is time to sign up to join VeronaWalk's Premier Lunch Group. The men eat always on "The First Wednesday of The Month."  The March date to circle is the 5th.

The men will visit Sam Sneads' in the Lely Resort. This is a return engagement to this fine restaurant on the golf course. The Agenda will guarantee "Food, Fun, and Friendship" for our Residents.

Get your reservation in soon, and plan to wear Green as this month is St Patrick's Day. The good Saint won't mind if  we celebrate a tad early.

TIME TO MARK YOUR BALLOT

Residents have had resumes from the Candidates for a while now. It is near time to pick four people, mark your ballot, and submit it.

This is an important election as it will be the Community's first.

Any endorsement here would not be appropriate, but we do suggest that voters look for Management Experience. On top of that we would say to choose a Candidate that values consensus, and who has a respect for residents pocketbooks.

Easy enough, yet it is a tough choice.

DAYTONA 500 DOESN'T LET BAD WEATHER STOP RACE

It was beautiful weather here in Naples Fl. Up North in Daytona it was a different story.  The Big  Race was delayed.

Eventually the pace car pulled out and the guys were off. They hit 200 mph, or close to that, and only had a half dozen accidents.

Around 11:00 PM the race ended. Dale won in his # 88 car. Nice job. Next up is the VeronaWalk 250 ! Charge up the batteries in those Golf Carts.

MEET THE CANDIDATES

On March 4 there will be an opportunity to meet your Candidates for VeronaWalk's first election.

It is your time to find out who has the correct qualifications to be an effective Board Member.

Find a Candidate that respects people, covets their input, places community ahead of personal ego, and who cares about spending your money like it was their own.  Do your job. Don't make an emotional a choice, make a wise choice.

RECORD CROWD AT CARRABBA'S

The Valentines Luncheon at Carrabba's was a huge success.

It was held on February 13 at Noon. There were 106 residents to enter for a choice of Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, or Chicken Caesar Salad.

Following the meal coffee and cake were served topping off a great Valentines Luncheon.

CHANNEL 195 WORKING

Good news, Bad news !

Our Community TV Channel is now operational. That is the good news. The bad news is there is nothing on it.

To be totally honest there is a welcome page, a picture of Town Center, and a thought for your day. Things will be added in the next few weeks.

The channel number is 95.  Look for it in a day or so to be up and running.

WINDING CYPRESS - LATEST INFORMATION

Provided by a VW Resident:

Here is the latest information provided to us by a resident regarding the Winding Cypress shared gate area.  As you are aware the gate house has been moved to the south and only the Winding Cypress development will be paying for the cost of the gate house.

VW will be responsible for 31% of the maintenance of this area. and WC 69%.  This will be the only cost sharing expense for the development.  

The developer is responsible for the construction cost.  The maintenance cost could impact our HOA fees as soon as the first quarter of 2015. 

Discussion on use was: 1)south entrance for VW residents only;  

2) will not take place until the 4^th quarter of 2013 or when construction on Benelli Court is completed; 

3) it will be a right turn only exit and; 

4) there will be a cut in the boulevard on Collier between the south and north entrances to make a u-turn.

GUARD TO ENFORCE POOL RULES

The H.O.A. has approved hiring a new guard to patrol the Pool and adjacent area on weekends.

The guards primary focus is to enforce posted pool rules. Apparently there have been some issues at the pool. Who has been riding the Whale in the pool?

Management determined to address the problem by using a guard on the weekends. A rumor was floating (no pun intended) that this guard was armed. That is not true.

VALENTINES LUNCHEON TO BE HELD AT CARRABBA'S

Not a big change from the last couple of years. The VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Group will do a Valentines Luncheon with their Ladies.

It will again be held at Carrabba's on Tamiami Trail, and Collier Blvd.

It looks like a good deal. Salad, Chicken Marsala or Lasagna all for $16.00

The guys better sign up quickly and get their Lady a nice new pink dress. Our thanks to Romeo's for changing their lunch date in support of our Valentines event.

GOODLAND SITE OF NEXT GENTLEMEN'S LUNCH

Just off Marco Island is another World. It is Goodland. That is the location of the next Gentlemen's Lunch

The date is, as always, "The First Wednesday of the Month" or Feb. 5.   The time is 12:00

Time to sign up. This looks like another 50 persons or more attending.

FEBRUARY DATES TO REMEMBER

Another month and "He" is yelling "Who has a birthday this month." Well I just booted him away from the keyboard, and checked  my book. 

Now I know why "He" didn't know. It's my Mom's birthday. Mom will be 89 years old TODAY !!!!!!.He just yelled in, "I thought she was 100."

We wish her a good day, and another good year.
