HAVE A LAUGH

Oh if it weren't for our good neighbors there would be no joke here. Check this one out.

-------

Bambi, a blonde in her fourth year as a UCLA Freshman, sat in her US Government class.

The professor asked Bambi if she knew what
Roe vs. Wade was about.

Bambi pondered the question; then, finally, said, "That was the decision George Washington had to make before he crossed the Delaware."

BOARD TO SELECT RESIDENT FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS VACANT SEAT

The "VW" Board of Directors has an empty seat. This is a result of the developer's representative leaving the Board as the builder has "turned over" the Community to the residents.

Our Publisher has thrown his hat into the ring of candidates that would like to serve.

Our Boss said to remain neutral here, and to stay positive about all candidates. It is the community's good fortune to have several people who are interested. This makes for choice.

We think the "Old Guy" is a great choice. He knows how to find the bridge to common thinking. He likes to take pictures too. We will stay silent about anything else.

If YOU have a favorite let your Board of Directors know.

Not bad. Been better. I'll stay pat and keep watching. It's not real money anyway.

TURNER RIVER

It's nice here  in the "walk" but every now and then an escape is necessary. The wife nagged this "Old Guy" to take a ride down to the Turner River Boardwalk for days before I finally relented, and said yes.

I grabbed my new camera and thought I would get some nice pictures of birds. I even brought a special lens. It has an automatic "bird finder." That's what I said anyway.

We got there around 10:30, because I never go anywhere early these days. I saw some nice landscape, and I was even chased, from the river bank, by an alligator who must have thought I wanted a close up.

I did take quite a few pictures of gators, two turtles, and one butterfly,  but none of birds. There were none to be seen until I got back home. So much for that special lens! Still it was a very nice day, and we enjoyed a good lunch in Everglades City.

Here are a few pictures  to take  look at. Maybe you will like them and get motivated to take a ride down to the Boardwalk and see  what you can do with your own camera.

A home owner in this community has reported that during the evening of July 16/17 someone came up to their home and removed five decorative solar lamps.

We have been asked to  share the above information with you for what ever value it may have.

AMBASSADOR TO NIGERIA - Email Scam

Guess who wants to help you, and give you some "big bucks?"

The man is - JAMES F. ENTWISTLE.  U.S AMBASSADOR TO NIGERIA.

Well that is how the man signs his name.  He has sent several (probably thousands) of emails to people in this community trying to help them obtain unclaimed funds.

All you have to do is register and pay the processing fee of $105. Reminds me of a huge animal on the farm or in other words "Bull."

If you get such an email forward it to the fraud unit of the Collier Sheriffs Office and delete from your file. This is a scam.

NEW SIGN FOR COMMUNITY

A new sign has been erected in front of our community. This one is very visible. It tells the world of all the hard work our residents did to earn this recognition:

DEVELOPER TO RESIGN FROM BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The "fifth" member of our Board of Directors, who is a carry over from the Builder's Board, will resign his position soon.

The resignation is because under Florida Law when a development reaches 95% completion the property management must be turned over to the residents. We now are at or over 95%.

A replacement will be named by the four remaining members of our current Board. Individuals with an interest should write to the Board President.

BIG BIRTHDAY FOR OUR CO-PUBLISHER

I took a trip to Wallmart recently and when the lady at the checkout register chirped  that my change was "7-11" it clicked. That also is the date of the wifes' birthday.

I would have remembered anyway since I always have things set up as reminders of this important date. She helps me remember too.

She will have to wait until the end of August. Then I'll take her to her favorite spot for a couple of days. That spot, if you couldn't guess it, is Disney. So for now:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY   !!!

ANNIVERSARY ON THE BLOCK

One of the friends' of this blog, from Valentina Ct, is having an anniversary today!

Information obtained by this blog indicates that these "kids" have been married 47 years. That is a huge number.

They like to travel and believe that keeps them young.  They have seen a good number of places on our world map, and hope to color in a few more in the years ahead.

We wish them a great  day and ....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !

RUMMY KUBE

All for .25.  That amount of money drives a good gang to play this fun game three times a week at Town Center.

My Queen had great luck with her "7's" and "11's" a few days ago. Could she be dropping hint's  about her birthday ?

Maybe some Sunday our Board President will grab a chair and join us. He sure seems to like walking by and checking on us.

FIRST FOURTH

Photo: Happy 4th of July!!!

First Fourth sounds like we are bankers competing with Fifth Third Bank.

That description may sound strange in N.J. but those of us who live in sunny Florida are familiar with the big bank that is almost on every corner.

But Bankers we are not. Grand parents we are. The picture above is of Ryan who just saw his first Fourth of July.

Ryan is number 14 in our collection of Grand Children.

CRUISE ON NAPLES" DOUBLE SUNSHINE FOR 4TH OF JULY

Happy Birthday America.

That was a good reason for us to get out of the house and meet with the neighbors for a fun time on the Double Sunshine.

We set sail around 7:30 PM and saw some nice boats, homes, and sun rays before getting close to the Naples Pier. There must have been a couple hundred boats with the same idea of watching fireworks on the water.

We got some nice pictures to share as promised in previous post. Hope you  enjoy them.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Today is Independence Day or the Fourth of July as most folk refer to our nation's most important holiday.

Flags were out all over the community as well as in downtown Naples.

Our community sponsored a trip to see the fireworks on the "Double Sunshine." It sailed from Tin City and took a nice ride down the Gordon River into the Gulf.

We floated around Naples Pier and had a wonderful view of the fireworks.

Then it was back to Tin City and home. Another holiday in the books.

I can't wait to next year as this is a very enjoyable event. I'll show you the pictures after they are developed.

CARRABBA'S A SUCCESS

The Veronawalk Gentlemen's Group enjoyed a fabulous lunch, just down the road from our homes, yesterday.

There were around 40 men in attendance including three new members. The reports indicate that the "Lasagna" was great.

The event was held at Carrabba's which has long been a favorite of VeronaWalk's number one men's lunch.

JULY DATES FOR US TO REMEMBER

There is one birthday and one big wedding that need celebration during this month.

The kids will be on their toes for sure, but the "Old Guy" may need to be prodded along with a broomstick.

The "Queen" will see for sure.
