BOD AWARDS MANAGEMENT CONTRACT TO SWPM

At an unusual time the BOD met to interview candidates for the job of managing the VeronaWalk Community. The meeting was set for 8:00 AM.

Two companies were presented to the BOD by its' Contracts Committee for further consideration. They were Cardinal Management, and First Services Management Group.

A report was prepared for the BOD by the Committee and cited areas of concerns that they had which led to the unanimous recommendation of Cardinal and First Service. Financial control was offered as a major reason to consider these companies, while the 20% savings was also mentioned.

The current management company, South West Property Management was added to the list by motion of the Board. With that the BOD  interviewed three companies.

At the end of all the debate there was a 2-2 tie on the motion to hire SWPM. That tie was broke by the Board President who, before casting his ballot, said the Old Board bore a good deal of responsibility for problems in the community. He would not blame the management company for failures of the Board.

Then the vote was cast for SWPM. The reaction was shock and silence but no rioting screams of anger. Just shock.

Now the decision has been made. It was in the right hands for making the call. Now simply: We move on.
