BURGLARY
Just after midnight, on Saturday morning, a man tried to force his way into a residents home. He is charged with burglary and resisting (without violence) an officer.
He has been released on $12,500 bond. The man is also a resident of our community.
The owners of the home apparently were home and called the Sheriff. They responded to Portofino Ct. There they observed that the "perp" entered the lanai by cutting the locked screen door. From the lanai he tried to get access to the home through slider doors.
The "bad guy" left the scene on a bike. Officers had a chase on their hands before finally apprehending him by blocking his path with their vehicle.
Once in custody it was determined that the offender lived on Valentina Ct. That address is also in the community. For legal reasons we elect not to identify the offender or the addresses involved.
This Blogs' Safety Guy reminds you again: Make sure you use your alarm and get good locks for your sliders.
