HALLOWEEN

Halloween marks the end of October for me.

 I was thinking of dressing up this year, but the wife said it would not be funny if I dressed up as an IRS Examiner. Oh well. I don't know what the problem was. The reporters are all in jail so who would say anything and get me in trouble.

I took some pictures in the community and will keep my participation in this years holiday to just sharing a couple with you. The one on top is the old guy when he owned an oil well.

Below is a piece of humor sent from one of our resident jokers. He thinks this is good. See what you think.

An Alabama pastor said to his congregation, Someone in this congregation has spread a rumor that I belong to the Ku Klux Klan.
 
This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community cannot tolerate.I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this.
 
Now, I want the party who said this to stand and ask forgiveness from God and this Christian family."
 
No one moved.
 
The preacher continued, "Do you have the nerve to face me and admit this is a falsehood?
 
Remember, you will be forgiven and in your heart you will feel glory. Now stand and confess your transgression."
 
Again, all was quiet.
 
Then, slowly, a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with a body that would stop a runaway train rose from the third pew.
 
Her head was bowed and her voice quivered as she spoke, "Reverend there has been a terrible misunderstanding.
 
I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I simply told a couple of my friends that you were a wizard under the sheets."
 
The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the congregation roared.
 
Life is Short. Smile while you still have Teeth.

PULTE STOCK

Here we are in October and still tracking Pulte Stock.

If you don't recall we purchased  100 shares a couple of years ago. The stock was a basement bargain and even went lower.

Our price,with imaginary money, was $6.42 per share. We have seen a lot of "Red Ink" with this purchase but that was quite a while ago

Last time we checked it was definitely in he Green at $16.87

TAX BILL

Just a note to remind (as if one could forget) our real estate taxes are due November 1st.

Payment may be made through February,  however in order to get the early payment discount of 4%, you should pay in November.

SHARED GATE TO OUR SOUTH A POSSIBILITY

A presentation was made to our community, by the Developer, informing us that the property on Collier Blvd, to our South, will be developed. The homes that will be built are to be similar to those recently built here.

Of particular interest is the creation of a new entry to our community that will be shared with the new Development.  Exact shared costs  have  been estimated at $4.50 per month.

This new gate was part of the original  plans  established by the developer  several years ago.

A safety recommendation was made a couple of years ago to create a second means of exiting the community. That was independent of the Developers plans.  

Perhaps now  action will be taken  to build an alternative means of entry and exiting our property. We think it is a good idea. The front gate can be blocked. It has already happened. With that situation emergency vehicles also would not be able to get in to the community.

We doubt the new gate will look like the one below. No matter how it looks, let it happen.

OFF AGAIN, THIS TIME TO JERSEY

They have a new grandson so the Queen has dragged the "Old Guy" out of bed and took him on the big jet plane to New Jersey.

I, the trusty neighbor, have again been charged with the key board. I'll do my best.

I know He will be back for the VeronaWalk Gentlemen's Lunch on Nov 6.
