HAVE A LAUGH

The king of neighborhood jokes sent this over for our friends to enjoy. It is on the subject of:

Women Drivers

This morning on the Interstate, I looked over to my left and there was a
Woman In a brand new Cadillac Doing 65 mph With her Face up next to her
Rear view mirror Putting on her eyeliner.

I looked away for a couple seconds to continue shaving
And when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, Still working on that makeup.

As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much: I dropped
My Electric Shaver - Which knocked The donut Out of my other hand.

In all The confusion of trying To straighten out the car with my knees against
The steering wheel, It knocked My Cell Phone Away from my ear Which fell
Into the coffee Between my legs! Splashed, And burned quite a bit. Ruined the darn phone, Soaked my trousers, And disconnected an Important call. ........

Darn women drivers!

POPE BLESSES OUR TRAVELERS

The group from VeronaWalk has returned from a great time going from Port to Port on the Mediterranean. There were around 100 residents that returned home on the 24Th (1:30 AM).

Our Publisher brought a blessing from Rome for everyone, along with this picture that was captured at the Vatican.

More pictures will follow over the next few days.

NEW BUDGET FOR RESIDENTS

That letter the usually comes near the end of year arrived early in November. It reflects the new budget, and monthly rates for our community.

Read it closely and know what you are paying for. It looks like there has been an increase for most home owners around $20. to $30 or more per quarter. Looking at this increase on a monthly basis it is right around $10. per month.

It is what it is. Some communities are much higher and they are feeling the effects of foreclosed properties that they (we) must cover. Here the total cost to the community is $40K. It sounds bad, but in terms of a per person cost this is less than the proverbial drop in the bucket.

An additional cost for next year, at $2. per month is the weed removal in the pavers. This will save not just the "Round up" or "Weed B Gone" costs, but the labor. I'd rather watch this work then do it, but that's just me. I know the Boss is going to be happy not having to do all that work.

This is a good community, and that which there is to complain about is just something we can deal with. That's good.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

This is one of the best holidays of the year. Family members usually fly or drive in from somewhere to Eat, Drink, and Visit. Some have a drink, and that's OK. It is deserved.

The picture is from a previous holiday when everyone was present. We need to do this again. Thanks for sending it down.

The TV in our home gets some heavy use too on thanksgiving. Of course that is always secondary to the above reason to get together - FOOTBALL.

The "Old Guy" in this house gets stressed trying to figure out: Drum stick, Olive, and what channel to put on. He is so lucky that this Lady has things under control.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to our family up North and our friends (You too Bruno) here in VeronaWalk.

BIRTHDAY WISHES TO A FRIEND

Now I know the boss won't see this until he is back home, but if I don't do this in a timely fashion I could be out of a job. So from the 'good old neighbor', and the Bosses pal, from the job, HAPPY, HAPPY, BIRTHDAY !

Thank God Birthday Boy's Pal can really sing. I am sure the good wishes were heard all the way over in Europe.

Here is a tune the Boss likes. That is the record player he still uses. Hope you all enjoy the song, and again HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

LONE SHOOTER THEORY STILL WITH US

On the 22nd it will be 47 years since the day JFK was shot in Dallas.

Does everyone remember the moment when Oswald made his fatal shot?

Time does blur somethings, but I believe it was a Friday, somewhere around 11:30/12:00 East Coast time. The shot stopped my day. It was like the Twilight Zone. Nothing seemed to happen all weekend.

The incident gets minimal coverage these days. The young kids don't even (OK, some do) know who Kennedy was. That is a sign of our present day. Kinda strange.

Maybe some of us "Old Timers" can take a moment and reflect on NOW and THEN. It is just a thought.
